Fantastic news about the payrise. 🥳🥳Mr M_F would likely make the same mistake re the boiler 🤣 (and the litter tray 🙄)  but does have other uses like being the pets slave so I'll keep him for now 😁
Glad it's disaster averted for now and fingers crossed by time it really breaks you will have saved up for it.

  • Gah, think I will have to go to docs again about it.  I am honestly just getting old (and fat-ter).

Dropped DC1 for his new extra day at nursery today then did some food shopping with DC2, mainly because I had WR vouchers for £9.50 off items we always buy so went (plus we obvs needed milk(!) and some bits like yoghurt, bananas etc).

Then managed to get DC2 down for 2 hours so, after a bit of tidying up I had a whole blissful 2 hours to myself to catch up on Greys Anatomy and got part way through the second to newest This is Us.  Was total bliss!

Sold the jumperoo for £20 so now that's £55 worth of baby stuff we have managed to sell.  £5 went to pay for DVD of DC1's nativity and £50 has stayed firmly in my purse so will pay into bank when next passing (not making a special trip).

Got our electricity bill which ran only from 16 Feb until 28th Feb.  Bearing in mind we actually only moved in on 17th it was a whole £52.72 which I think is quite ridiculous.  We are not the same as UK here in that we are not subject to price caps etc and, looking at the current standing charges and unit rates in uk, we are better here (though obvs we pay for it in terms of higher cost of living generally so it all evens out I think) - but need to get DH to buy into turning stuff off - he says that if you have say a charger plugged in with switch on, it doesn't consume any electricity unless there is something attached to it, but I am not convinced that's right (though hope it is obvs).

Working tomorrow.  Boo.  But tbh it's easier than having the kids all day!  Though today was quite nice - going to try to enjoy the luxury of a couple of hours to myself each week for now because I am sure DC2 will drop naps by autumn, or at least only have shorter naps.

I don’t think it’s true for old stuff, but all newer type things have very little phantom use at all and in my opinion little difference if you turn off or not.

That's such good news about the pay rise (and the thermostat 🤣)

we have started turning the sky box off overnight as apparently that does consume a fair bit of electric when on standby.  It means it's off for 20/21 hours a day.  Obviously having sky at all is a cost but we've reduced to the minimum package.

But doesn’t that mean nothing will get recorded? I refuse to watch anything live as I don’t do adverts.
