Dcbl letter before claim stage

Thank you. This one says ‘letter of claim’ not before just wondered why? Also one of these was in the previous letter, but now it’s in this one with another one added from a year later.Coupon-mad said:LBC stage is covered in the NEWBIES thread and you never, ever, ever ring a PPC or their agents.I can’t keep track and don’t even know what to believe.. so far they have duplicated ones, tried to charge different costs for the same pcns, and now added another from a year later randomly.Am I right in saying just ignore them now until I get actual court claim documents through the post.0 -
'Letter Before Claim' and 'Letter of Claim' are two names for the same thing, which was also known as a 'Letter Before Action' at one time.
'Letter of Claim' seems to be the more modern name for it - the term being used extensively in the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims 2017.1 -
No. My advice is repeated.Cp100 said:Coupon-mad said:LBC stage is covered in the NEWBIES threadAm I right in saying just ignore them now until I get actual court claim documents through the post.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You have just posted your vehicle's registration mark and, perhaps more importantly, your MCOL password. Also your PCN references.
The parking companies trawl this forum just waiting for people to trip themselves up and by posting that information they will be able to uniquely identify you and your alleged parking transgressions.
Suggest you remove those images and if you really want to post them again, some judicious editing might be appropriate.
Oh, and it is not a summons. You're free to ignore it but that would be unwise.1 -

Update: now have court letter for the first 3 pcns, not the two sent at later dates.£480 for the three pcns plus charges etc. Bringing the total to £857
hoping I can fight this and win and not regret just paying them before the court stage to settle it.After this court letter for these 3 pcns can they then do another court letter for the other two?0 -

They have added what appears to be an a cnsderale extra unlawful amount for debt collection. This amounts to double recoveryJudges have dismissed an entire claim because of this. Read this and complain to your MP.
Excel v Wilkinson
At the Bradford County Court, District Judge Claire Jackson (now HHJ Jackson, a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge) decided to hear a 'test case' a few months ago, where £60 had been added to a parking charge despite Judges up and down the country repeatedly disallowing that sum and warning parking firms not to waste court time with such spurious claims. That case was Excel v Wilkinson: G4QZ465V, heard in July 2020 and leave to appeal was refused and that route was not pursued. The Judge concluded that such claims are proceedings with 'an improper collateral purpose'. This Judge - and others who have since copied her words and struck dozens of cases out in late 2020 and into 2021 - went into significant detail and concluded that parking operators (such as this Claimant) are seeking to circumvent CPR 27.14 as well as breaching the Consumer Rights Act 2015. DJ Hickinbottom has recently struck more cases out in that court area, stating: ''I find that striking out this claim is the only appropriate manner in which the disapproval of the court can be shown''.

- to acknowledge the court claim online
- send an email to my local MP?- come up with a defence to send to the courts? Many thanks everyone0 -
But the Particulars of Claim shows...

That says £480 plus a bit of interest.
Other fees need to be added, as shown in you next image...
But how does the £480 jump to £717.08?
Surely it can't be £237.08 of interest?
Where is that explained?1
