Please Can Anyone Give Me Some Advice. I Want To Travel To Southampton From Manchester Piccadily On 15/02 Until 17/02 What Is The Best Way To Do It? Thankyou0
-
dysgucymraeg, welcome to the forums.
That return journey on the dates shown can be done for £47.00 by buying Value Advance Singles.
Depending on timing, the outward journey could be either via Reading or Euston, and the return should by via Reading to get these fares.
A cheaper fare may be possible by split ticketing.0 -
THANKYOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT kEITH . i WILL GIVE IT A TRY. FINGERS CROSSED0

Hi, can anyone help me please i'm looking to travel from Newcastle central to Blackpool pleasure beach, 2 adults departing feb 15th & returning feb 17th. I don't use trains much so don't really know where to go for the best deals, I was quoted £129 by Virgin for a savers return. What times are classed as peak times?0

Any rail website will (with some exceptions) give you the same deals
The fare you have been quoted (£64.50 each) is valid on all trains - there are no peak hour restrictions on it.
Try splitting the jorney in York - you may hit lucky on advance singles, not available for the through journey.0 -
Hi I am trying to get From London Paddington to Falmouth Docks in Cornwall on the 7th Feb returning on the 9th Feb, the cheapest I can find (after many hours of trying Lol) is £58.50 return, thats on First Western railway and National Railway. I have tried singles to Plymouth and a single from Plymouth but seems to work out at £67 return, I have tried to see if I purchase a Family railcard, if that would help, but I don't think you can use them in Cornwall... Do you think that £58.50 is OK,? or am I doing something wrong....any help would be grafefully received..Lol..many thanks if you can help.....:j Lilly ps I want to leave Paddington about 10 0'clock on the 7th and return about 1pm on the 9th0

Lilly that return journey can be done for £47 using advance purchase tickets if you dont mind delaying your return to arr Paddington just before midnight. For an earlier return add £5.50 or £11.50.
All fares found at National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner.0 -
Thanks Keith, I did try that trick Lol....I need to be back in London before midnight on the Saturday, or I might turn into a pumpkin Lol, seriously, I will be stuck in London, as I need to get another train home and the last one goes about 11.45 from Charing Cross!!! many thanks anyway, at least it looks like I was doing it right . £58 isn't the end of the World, but as I am dragging daughter all over the place at the moment, so she can look at open days for
university it is becoming a bit expensive !!! thanks again.....Lilly

You can use a family railcard in Cornwall - as long as the child you are taking with you is within the age limit. If she's about to go to university that sounds doubtful.....0

Can you use a family rail card? I know that you can have up to four adults traveling with you, I have tried putting in family rail card when I tot up the price, but it doesn't seem to count it, I don't want to spend £24 out, if I can't use it...Can you get these advance train trickets from the Station, does anyone know? would they know???if you can use a family rail card....daughters 19 so would be counted as an adult, don't think you have to take children with you to get the discount from the Rail card...any ideas....thanks....Lilly :j0
