Thats one way that they could get traffic off the road, reducing the price of public transport would really help...Almost..debt free.. :P:money:0 -
I dont understand all these train tickets.. Which one is the cheapest? Need 2 tickets from Northampton/Aberystwyth return if anyone can help..
A saver return (Buy on the day, no reservation, any off peak train) is £47.10 each.
Advance purchase singles (buy in advance, specific trains) are £13, £18 or £21 each, each way, depending on what's available when you buy them.
Cheaper NOT to buy them from thetrainline or raileasy, who add a booking fee.0 -

22 August should be no problem once they are released. Don't believe the hoary old 12 weeks myth - it rarely happens in reality.
24 August may be a problem - both in there being cheap tickets and in there being any trains to use them on that are not buses for large sections of the route.
Might be worth looking at going via London on the return - though I don't know whether there will be engineering works that way as well......0 -

Thanks for the info folks.
There are 3 of us going on this trip, therefore at £110.00 each, we would defo be better off taking the car. I just dont want to.
Any ideas of when the Advance Saver tickets will be released. Im becoming obsessed with Virgintrains.co.uk lol Maybe i will email Richard, see what he can do lol..
