Please look at the template defence Announcement thread ... that covers the bulk of your defence and also has 12 numbered steps describing the process you need to follow.

Defence is for legal points - to rebut the claim; witness statement (+ evidence) is the narrative to support the defence. So no photos with the defence.

In other words you aver that signage was missing, unclear or sub-standard and put the Claimant to strict proof to the contrary. Your photos go with your WS to prove your defence point. (But signage is already covered in the template defence anyway).

What is the issue date on the claim form?
Upon what date did you complete the AoS?

Have you revisited the site in darkness to take photos or video?

Whereabouts was the vehicle allegedly stopped? Was it on the straight run through the main part of the airport to/towards the drop off car park, or down the hill at the far end past the drop off car park towards the service gate/hotel area, or somewhere else?

    Thanks Jenni, that is clear.

Fruitcake, Issue date 11th March, AOS was completed on 20th March. My mother passed away on the 11th March and the funeral was yesterday so have just found time to come back to this. Vehicle was parked on the run-through yes. I have been back in the dark to take photos of the signs in question yes.

By my rough calculations you have until 4pm on Wednesday 13th April by which to file your defence, but I'm sure @KeithP will correct me if I'm wrong. :) Instructions are in those 12 numbered steps I mentioned previously.

Thanks Jennie, That is what I have too. Have been working through the template....
  • I just received a DEMAND FOR PAYMENT of £170 for each of two 'offences' that occurred within one minute of each other. One while I took a phone call from my office (I'm a taxi driver, and having just dropped someone off, assumed he'd left something in the car).

It was a pick up from the car park however, and as I drove into the entrance of the drop off car park to pick them up, the passenger ran straight at the car, so I naturally stopped. Before I knew it, or could do anything about it, they opened the boot and threw in their bags.

Lewis Hamilton remains stationary for longer than I did on each occasion!

I seem to remember reading that adding on another £70 for whatever spurious reason was illegal. Is this correct?

You need to start a new thread of your own please. Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Yes that's correct - see the Template Defence thread which explains it in the draft defence we suggest for court cases, that's the easiest way to read about the new Code and why it matters, even though it's not implemented yet.

This is not your thread.  Did you post here in error?  You need to stick to your own thread please as it causes confusion.

I've just spotted that he opened a new thread in the Motoring Section about this over a month ago. Advised there to get it moved to this forum, but that doesn't seem to have been actioned.

@SouthWestRam, please contact a Board Guide (@soolin) and ask that your thread in Motoring is transferred to this sub forum please.

Unfortunately @soolin has recently confirmed that board guides ambassadors are currently unable to move anything...

@FlapJackIV, your best bet is to get this thread moved to the Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking board.

I know @soolin has done this in the past. Perhaps she will see this comment.
Unfortunately the current glitch means none of us ambassadors can move anything. If you Email the forum team they can move it for you.
Has also been confirmed by @MSE_Laura_F...
That's right - Ambassadors aren't able to move threads at the moment. If you spot any threads that need moving, you can either PM them to me or to the other Laura (MSE_Laura) or you can email them to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. We're really grateful for your help with those sorts of things.
