Switch done via phone, branch appointment cancelled. All other switch incentive requirements are already done or are part of my monthly routine anyway, so all is primed for the offer.

My dd to Oxfam has 'failed' (dont know why). Ecology will only allow 1 x dd.
Can I move a dd from my Sant 123 to the Everyday a/c? Will thius count??
(as an aside, just had a PO email - DDs are being stopped from 3/22)

The timescales are explained in clause 3.1 of the offer Ts & Cs.

Geez, that was an exhausting application. :D Almost like HSBC. In some respects maybe even worse.
I thought I will get an instant decision but I only received an email saying they will look at my application.
There wasn't even a spinning wheel or anything resembling credit check...  Is this how it normally works with Santander?

Edit: actually, there was a spinning wheel for 2 seconds. Then "Thank you, we received your application". But nothing about being approved or declined.

Never had any problems applying for Santander accounts myself. This time the Everyday accounts were created almost straight away and appeared in mobile/online banking immediately as well.
Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.

But it's your second account, isn't it? I've never had any account with Santander. This is the first one.

I got an email saying they were looking at my application. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I've heard nothing since.

Opened this opening and received an email to request a copy of my passport. I went to my local Santander branch who took a photocopy and faxed it. They also took a copy of my drivers license in case the next request was proof of address. It's the first time in a long time that I've opened a bank account and they required a copy of my passport.
I wasn't asked for any ID. A friend got asked to provide ID for a credit card & I didn't with the same provider, it turned out there was a typo on their address in the application form. So you might want to check you didn't enter anything wrong.

Barclays want ID taken to a branch if you apply for an overdraft, so I decided not to bother with the overdraft.

RBS & Natwest both needed ID uploaded, they only requested that after I'd applied & so I don't know if the overdraft affected it. I had previously been a Natwest customer & I don't remember them wanting ID before

but it's the only thing that has a slight element of ambiguity in the published qualification criteria.

    There is ambiguity here

3.4 We reserve the right to not make any Cashback Payment where we suspect or are made aware that the Switcher Offer is being abused, for example, by closing an Old Account to switch back to us to receive the Cashback Payment.

I figured "an Old Account" could be one that you had previously used but were no longer using and would therefore no longer have any direct debits on it.

Certainly I don't believe that santander intend for you to just make £130 out of switching in an account that you weren't actually using, there doesn't seem to be any benefit to them.
