I love the fact that prolific isn’t asking you to test product ideas but is actually helping with people’s research - it makes me much more motivated to do it!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Yep, I'm a big fan of Prolific too. Although given that I teach research methods as part of my day job, I do occasionally send some of them bit of 'helpful feedback' 😂😂 Not that often though, they're mostly pretty ok, which is one of the many reasons they're far less annoying than everywhere else!4

I don't do any surveys. I think it is because I already offer enough of myself in my online shopping and I assume I'm not really what they are looking for, since I'm retired, and most of my opinions and views are different to my neighbours, certainly politically. Not mainstream, as they saySave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

There's a niche for everyone @Suffolk_lass - it's worth a shot if you ever need a low commitment income top-up. That's me at £16 and rising, can't say I've done much in the way of surveys that was "about me" per se. Remember researchers will need a representative sample of the population - even if you're different from what you perceive the norm to be, you're still part of the totality5

A lovely but frustrating day. The frustrating part was the fact that I have hurt my lower back, I'm not sure how
It's pretty damn sore and I am taking Co-codamol, but am managing to keep my usage down to twice a day (the lowest dose pills of Co-codamol available)
The lovely part was going for our first family day out to the re-opened Burrell collection, which is every bit as special as I remember, but with swish new open plan galleries, loads of green technologies and an improved restaurant. Unfortunately that led to us spending £34 on lunch, but I suppose that's not horrendous for 3.We also had our soffits, fascias, gutters and downpipes replaced today, all of which were rotten or damaged in some way. The £1,700 spend was rather tough to part with, but it was budgeted for and they did a very smart job. It's all no maintenance PVC now, which looks ok on our vintage of house (mid-70s ugmo)! The bulk of our direct debits have gone out and I also paid £48 into DD1's ISA, £33 into DD2's ISA, as well as OPing £118.02 and paying £118.02 into my ISA (regular payments plus £40 or so of interest from Ch@se). We are over-committed for the month, but I'm fairly comfortable we can get back to the black with small tweaks to our categories. I also withdrew £26.16 from Prolific, which has topped up my pocket money account.Happy weekend all7 -
Gosh, you are the third person with a bad back this week ! (My DH, my Sis and you) - me? just a persistent right temple headache that three doses of co-codamol are controlling but not shifting. Day 2 today and we are off to party at 12.00. It is so bad I have asked DH to drive there. Back tomorrow. As we are overnighting away I will take the higher dosage separate elements that should then shift it overnight.
The rest sounds good. We have "conservation grade" plastic window frames that most people assume are wood on our (unlisted) thatched placeSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I'm sorry to her that you are feeling unwell @Suffolk_lass - do you often experience headaches that bad? Try and enjoy the party as best as you are able
Having checked our accounts, we won £25 from the PB this month, £12.50 OPed and £12.50 paid into my ISA. Having re-jigged a few budget lines, we actually start the month at a position of c. -£1,000. This still seems fixable, as I've done things such as allocate ££££ to the extension, whereas all we will likely do is draw down c. £12,000 from savings for the first 2 weeks of stage payments (builders start 18th July). All the plootering keeps me out of trouble5 -
Ooh - I forgot about PBs - off to check the app! Thanks for the reminder, Ed 😄
