The number of swear words that I actually feel about this whole situation would probably get me banned. Just think that the MPs pay rise this year would pay my whole energy bill. But according to the BOE guy we shouldn't be pushing for too much pay rise, which from someone on over half a million a year seems just a tad insulting (polite version)

nodding along in agreement hereMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -

BTW @Watty1 we also have a flicking cat (daughter of a feral mother) - we use a very deep tray on one of those enormous 1m square seed tray drip catchers. It does help, especially when she missesSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)

Rishi doesn’t like giving any money away until he’s shamed into it with his arm twisted behind his back. Probably the next PM if Johnson can be thrown out the building.2025 decluttering: 5,000 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟2025 use up challenge: 362🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge +4/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 120/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 5006 -

In the world-wide financial crisis in 2008 the Government propped up the banks to stabilise the British economy. In my view that world-wide crisis was similar to the pandemic impact and the energy crisis today. The difference is in the transparency and method and the likelihood of getting that support back (and therefore the long-term risk).
VIP contracts is the worse scandal in my view (we had to act fast, we did our best... - no, you gave literally billions of state money to your friends and supporters and some of yourselves, many of whom had no business experience in the relevant area, as we are now finding out). I notice the messaging rhetoric that the Labour Party wrecked the UK economy has been dropped since the car-crash pandemic financial impacts are emerging.
The culture of the personality prevails. Memories are short and people believe what they read. If they do (read). The average person has no interest in politics or the dark arts of communications and influencing. Many think Boris is a bit of a blokey bloke and fun. The timed resignations of his private office team to be the same day as his brain (Policy chief Munira Mirza) is camouflage for that serious loss, and his "Boris is getting a grip" No 10 message is trying to play down the importance of the loss of that ally. Today Partygate, the Covid crimewave and the financial mismanagement are buried beneath lead stories about the Queen, her accession, and her wishes for her daughter in law. Move on, nothing to see here. We are all being played.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
