Lots of good advice here - I usually record my presentations for run-throughs multiple times and get colleagues to review (or we do a live session). I then play my 'best' take in the background while I'm doing other stuff so I can learn it really well. It helps me present without notes. When I was speaking at conferences for a living this was really effective - I just used the slides as prompts so I delivered the right presentation (top tip is to make sure that if you are delivering multiple sessions the content doesn't overlap too much... it's not fun realising part way through that you're actually not delivering the correct session 🤣). It also meant that my timing was accurate to within 30 seconds, which can be important.

VNM asked it at his last interview and they immediately said no, and began telling him about the kind of work he would be doing and his induction - he knew he had the job then
I once asked it and they told me they were worried about my staff leadership skills so I agreed with them that I had not had a lot of experience but highlighted something from outside of work that fitted the bill - the job in question was a stretch for me anyway but I was glad as I know they would have said she is possible but doesn't have the skills for xxx and at least we got to discuss it (I got the job). Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
Ed, I have no advice, but I am sure with all the tips on here, you will smash it. Thanks everyone else for the tips - I am making notes so Mr MV has all the ideas when he actually starts applying for jobs (the last time either of us had an interview was over 15 years ago and for much more junior roles, so he will need to up his game!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

The edge slightly taken off daddy daughter day after DD2 was a tool at bedtime! Hey ho, asleep now.First draft of my presentation finished, will time it tomorrow, trim any examples that need tweaked and let Mrs E loose on it with her design skills
Mrs E and girls going to the cinema tomorrow, I'll finish presentation, have AI create me some STAR flashcards and ask me some interview questions. - £16.81 OPed.
- Home insurance purchased, about £40 cheaper than last year, with £30-45 of cashback to follow with a fair wind. £69 moved from Home Insurance budget to Home Maintenance and OP budget.
- £1,000 paid into VAFTGAG by Mrs E (her first ISA investment)
- c. £550 paid into ISAs for the girls. Funny to think that DD1 might need her nest egg in a little over 7 years!
- £8.08 withdrawn from Prolific and paid into my personal spends budget.

One way of answering the final question is
I am very interested in this role and would love to join you/ feel the role is an excellent fit for my skills/think I could bring added skills
Are there any questions that I need to expand my answers to, or give you more information so that I can go out of here knowing I have done the best I can to help you make a decision
The other thing I have done is at the end of each answer ask - Have I given you enough information or would you like me to expand on anything?

@Debsnewbudget - I think that approach is a great fit for how I'd like to come across - accomplished but willing to reflect on any gaps. I tried to do that on my application as well, proper reflection with a few "negative into positive" examples.
Have taken a wee look at our ISA investments for the girls this morning. It is heartening how much they have grown, DD1 is up 80%+ so far and isn't in the most aggressive of choices. Nice to see the snowball is working8 -
- £6.96 OPed
- Meter readings submitted, pleased to see we spent £50 less than our DD for the month, probably won't swing into usage > payment until December at this rate

Nipping out to the supermarket, then spending a couple of hours on work prep. Managed to get a few month end chores out of the way yesterday (DW, extractor fan filters, and WM cleaned).5 -
@edinburgher - thanks for mentioning STAR flashcards - I have had a lovely trawl down the rabbit hole reading about them!
