Oh that's REALLY annoying ed! 😡 Well done for persisting. Fingers crossed for the cat4

Not the best night with DD2. Went to bed in bad humour then tried to *punch* me when she woke up at midnight 😱 Then noise at 2, 4 and 5. I am unsure if she was just tired and grumpy or if there's something more at play here. Mrs E insists her behaviour is normal for a 3-year-old, I find her stubborn to the point of aggressive at times.4

I wonder, is she articulate? does she know the words to express how she is feeling? All the books suggest the anger reduces as they learn more words and can better express what they are feeling at around four. We taught our son three words to try and help - dream (including when he had had a bad one and was frightened of another), cross, and cuddle - in line with advice, but it made no discernible difference. We were told he had neurological divergent traits when he was 16 and was still taking out his frustration in different ways. It made us feel we had failed him.edinburgher said:Not the best night with DD2. Went to bed in bad humour then tried to *punch* me when she woke up at midnight 😱 Then noise at 2, 4 and 5. As the parent of one (known) intelligent child, early indications are that she's going to cope fine academically. Very good numerically, quite articulate at a younger stage than DD1 etc.She does show affection (more mum than dad at the moment), but it is very much on her terms (i.e. the odd day she's not tired/grumpy/ill). DD1 was a wee limpet from birth, so I'm not sure if I'm just making an unfair comparison. I know what they say about comparisons...Still, my parent sense is tingling, I am wondering if there's a slight tendency to something? 🤷🏻♂️3

Neurodiversity definitely runs in the family - two of my siblings have children with differing diagnoses and I have often worried about myself, my big brother, and my dad!4

Can't wait to take the cat to the vet so that I can have a nap afterwards!4 -
I would say you know your daughter best, so possibly there is something in it. However, if it helps my son is placid and relaxed to the point of being horizontal and my daughter is tireless, strong-willed and incredibly stubborn. They are totally different and my daughter is 4, but has days where she loses control completely as she just doesn't know how to deal with strong emotions - my son was never like that.3-5 are difficult ages as they aren't emotionally mature and find it difficult to deal with emotions.2025 decluttering: 5,307 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟🌟2025 use up challenge: 435🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Big kitchen declutter challenge 139/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 5005

They also say that girls tend to deal better longer term with these challenges than boys do. Which is why they originally thought that it was very rare for girls to have them. Don't know how true it is.5

@QueenJess - that is very much the divide between our two! 😂
Mrs E remains adamant she can't see an issue, perhaps I'm being overly focused. Will ponder it in my heart
Vet couldn't find anything of note, no obvious swelling, temperature normal, no secondary signs of infection, toes/leg is sore. Sent away with some painkillers and told we can top them up with some different leftover ones from last injury (March). She'll be lucky to live a decade at this rate! Anyway, £77 gone for 7 tablets and a bit of vet chat 😒Now for a nap!3 -
