You are very welcome PD, I never get the emails, either. I managed to get Mrs E to buy a voucher, too, so we have £40 of anniversary takeaway to look forward to and it cost £28.40. Cashback was paid into the Home Maintenance budget line.
A bit of a pants day. Bosses were all off, so I slacked off a bit. Did lots of Prolific instead but sickened myself of it (£30 or so). Had plenty of work to do but couldn't drag the horse (myself) to water. Got 4-5 easy bits of work either out the door or moved on.
I think it's just frustration and a reminder that I'm not happy where I am. No progress on potential new job yet, things take time in my place of work. I'm looking elsewhere, too, but not much out there of interest. I'm trying to earn more but there's no real focus to it. There's not enough overtime in the world to quit the workforce in the next decade!
Oddly enough, I found it easy enough to do an hour of overtime focused on one task that's a bit less intellectually taxing. Well, intellectually taxing in a more easy to focus way.
FIT payment of £215 is winging its way to me
S&S ISA topped up by another fiver, UK plc is getting a bit of a kicking but I'm long my fellow Brits5 -
Ooh, great FIT tariff. When I first followed you, you were talking about this and I ignored it (because the house is thatched, not because I did not believe you. Over the subsequent years you have done well with the FIT scheme while we missed out, by delaying. There's a lesson there in terms of seize the daySave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2234.63/£3000 or 74.49% of my annual spend so far (not going to be much of a Christmas at this rate as no spare after 9 months!

We have done relatively well with the solar panels, even considering the fact that our orientation is several degrees off optimal. Still, they have washed their own face(s) and we have had reduced bills for a decade now, to boot. In the unlikely event we stay in this house in retirement, I would go the whole hog and double the amount of panels with large battery storage etc. New panels produce c. 50% more energy for lower cost than we paid. Definitely one of my better carpe diems11

Am trying my best to pull myself out of my work funk, accomplished 75% productive days for the week and fixed a mistake that I made last week like a genuine growned up. Nobody ripped my head off, which just goes to show that nobody holds your mistakes against you unless they're a jerk or you kill someone1. Overtime done for the week2. Withdrew £7 from Prolific3. £3.63
not particularly looking forward to tomorrow, we're getting a new broadband line fitted and they will need to drill through either a wall or a window frame.8
