Suffolk_lass said:I also faced a lot of financial challenges, but I think we all do. What I had was a decent occupational pension and job security until relatively late. The race to the bottom, administered by the "haves", is the single thing I abhor. Where does that come from?I'm not planning on doing a whole lot today. Managed an 8am trip to the tip (try saying that after a couple of glasses of wine), picked up a Mother's Day breakfast for Mrs E and have helped with some basic housework. £5 paid into the LISA (Ch@se cashback and the remainder from a budget line). I have downloaded the N00m app and am giving it a go to aid with weight loss. It makes a lot of sense, although the focus on food with low calorie density will require quite a bit of re-learning for me. I don't like those foods as much*Edit: another £30 paid into LISA, decided that I don't need a buffer for utilities at the moment in light of the budget. I am aware that our bills will go up significantly as of April (fix ends) but £30 wasn't going to make much of a difference.8

The vomiting bug has passed from DD2 to DD1, who projectile vomited all over her double bed and even the wall (which looks stained) 🤢 I started doing laundry at 10:30 last night and the 4th load just went on
Still another load to go, then I'll need to go to one of these giant outdoor washing machines with her duvet. Think I managed some sleep, maybe 3-4 hours? I have an upset stomach to boot, not the best morning 😫
DD2 was sick as well and Mrs E is shattered. Happy Mothers Day!9 -
The range and cover these small bodies can achieve when they've caught a bug would put Dulux to shame! When the kids were little we had covers and protectors on all soft furnishings for exactly this reason. Summer was a sweaty mess, but it avoided having to replace all the duvets and mattresses.I hope your day gets better学然后知不足,教然后知困。知不足,然后能自反也 - 礼记8

I think we got up to 7 loads of washing done, an 8th for the duvet and some cuddly toy scrubbing. Currently praying Mrs E gets DD2 down for a nap so I can go upstairs and put my head down for an hour... Mrs E has already managed a nap. I would have gone already but DD1 a little feverish and clingy.

Hope everyone starts to feel better soon and you get a decent nap too.5
