New Lloyds Switch offer 2021

Thanks. I think I will go for the Halifax to Lloyds switch, as my other single accounts are currently involved in other switches.
I might well open another Halifax Reward anyway in a few weeks for the monthly reward.1 -
You can have more than one Halifax reward account, I believe its 3 solo accounts, as long as you can fund them each month, so you could go online apply for a 2nd (very quick) and use that as the donor account for Lloyds which wouldn't mess up your existing rewards.ChocolateWombat said:Thanks. Officially it's 2 Halifax Reward accounts - 1x sole and 1x joint (as per the account T&Cs). Unofficially, their systems seem to let you open 3x sole accounts online and a fair number of people have reported operating these without issue for some length of time..Snapdragon said:

Thanks I wasn't aware that it wasn't official; I've had 2 sole accounts, both getting the £5 monthly reward for about a year without any issue and thought I'd seen somewhere that their customer service had confirmed they allowed 3 solo accounts, with the only proviso you have to be able to pay in the £1500 a month to all 3.PRAISETHESUN said:

Could I switch to a new lloyds platinum account, recieve the £100 switch reward , then switch out again. Therefore gaining £100 minus the £21 platinum monthly fee? I'd be £79 better off so don't mind the first monthly fee
Or would I have to keep the account open for a number of months to qualify for the switch incentive and would I be allowed to close the platinum account straight after the switch, or is there any clause that it has to be open for a number of time
Many thanks

Do the switch offer terms require you to keep the account open for a specified period?verticalverlocity said:

So can you have 1x sole and 1x joint Club Lloyds? But not 2x sole Club Lloyds?0

Personal Banking Terms And Conditions and Banking Charges (lloydsbank.com) Page 7 para 3/4:locky123 said:So can you have 1x sole and 1x joint Club Lloyds? But not 2x sole Club Lloyds?
"Customers may hold a maximum of one account with Club Lloyds benefits (either a Club Lloyds account or an Added Value current account with a Club Lloyds benefits package) in their sole name and one in joint names. No more than two customers may hold any one Club Lloyds account or have a Club Lloyds benefits package added to their account."
If previous posts are to be believed it appears there are legacy positions tolerated/not found;
or Lloyds has holes in its ac checking algorithms;
or it decides who it applies the official terms to on a personal basis;
or we have some comprehension mismatch between what people are discussing and what some are reporting.
I've been a 'player' since the inception of 'Club' terms, and I've never been given the option when following their application selection process to open a 2nd solo with Club benefits, and I have held joint and solo club acs simultaneously.
I've never tried opening a 2nd solo by phone, so ...?
Opening a joint in either circumstances involves a branch visit, unless policy has changed under pandemic conditions.

Having an appalling experience so far, trying to open up one of these.
Via Mobile - screen freezes and cannot progress.
Via Internet - progresses through to online registration and then just states "Something's Gone Wrong" and stops.
No emails, nothing to say account actually opened at this stage, despite progressing past CASS screen
Phone calls to CS. Long wait and then a poor, garbled, connection, resulting in being sent back to start menu again and another prolonged wait.
Never been with Lloyd's before, and I am starting to think that the gods are telling me that I shouldn't start an association now!
Update: Application is being sent to me via post for signature, but an account has been opened. Just need to wait now.0 -
Wont be opening a joint account then.soulsaver said:

So opening a second sole Club Lloyds online should fail. Therefore downgrading existing Club Lloyds should be first step before applying.0
