Letter Before Claim - Gladstone Solicitors UK Car Park Management Limited
They Claim I owe £170 in debt, £35 court fee and £80 solicitors costs.
I have received a letter before claim and now have received a text message to my personal number also threatening about this.
Could anyone suggest what steps to take next
Thanks,

Welcome! What do you need to know that’s not answered by the 2nd post of the Newbies thread, all about pre-court LBC stage (and court claims)?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Wanted to see if there was a template that i could send back to Gladstones that i could amend with my details.Coupon-mad said:Welcome! What do you need to know that’s not answered by the 2nd post of the Newbies thread, all about pre-court LBC stage (and court claims)?0 -
If there is a court fee of £35 it sounds like you have received a court claim , not an LBC
Show us as redacted picture of it , with issue date showing , but no personal details2 -
Yes, in the NEWBIES thread but you are sending a SAR to the PPC (full template example SAR wording is all there and isnt repeated on individual threads).joem23 said:

A letter before claim is NOT a court claimjoem23 said:Was looking for some advice, am a resident in a block of flats and have parked in the residence where I live and am lease holder for and parked opposite my bay not blocking anyone else in or obstructing anyone,

Thanks,
Assume the ticket was £100 ....... they have added a fake £70 and the court fee should be £25 and solicitors costs £50 ... that's how it works.
Residential cases are not approved by judges and Gladstones know that
You must reply to a letter before claim
1: DENY ANY DEBT
2: Ask Gladstones for a full explanation of the amounts. The most they can do is tell you rubbish
Just block them on your phone, you cannot be dealing with scammers4 -
Hi, thanks for help so far this was the response - what shall i respond to this?
Thank you for your email.
We are agreeable to placing the file on hold for 30 days from the date of this letter.
In respect of the amount, the charge sought is industry standard and is set at a rate so as to suitably satisfy our client's legitimate interest. In the case of ParkingEye v Beavis 2015 it was held that an £85.00 charge was neither extravagant nor unconscionable. The Accredited Trade Associations of which parking operators must be a member in order to apply for DVLA data prescribe a maximum charge of £100 and our client's charges are within this level.
The decision of the Supreme Court also made it clear that the charges are not penal nor do they have to be reflective of the parking operator's loss.
The full sum of £170.00 is outstanding. Should we fail to receive a reply or payment in full within the time-frame above, our Client may elect to issue legal proceedings without furher notice.

Prepare yourself for when that thirty days expires, and you receive a County Court Claim, by reading the second post of the NEWBIES thread.
From this part i sent off my n180 back in January and have heard nothing since then gladstone sent an email saying they will not be attending court.
i spoke to MCOL helpline in january who stated after a certain amount of time with no response the claim would be void. i called back today to find that the case has been sent to local county court with a date set0 -
Nice of them to let you know! What is the date they have set? Have they agreed to send you the letter they should have sent you?joem23 said:
