I've just finished a survey which asked my opinion on an advert for Chase's new current account and it looked like a finished product. The rate was given in the voiceover so this will give it scope to be varied but in it it stated that it would offer 1% cashback on 'everyday'* debit card spending for the first twelve months. *"Exclusions apply"

The rest was similar to what has already been posted, about how it will be app based, your card won't have a number on it but instead it will be available in the app, it'll have a call centre where you can quickly speak to a human and not have to deal with robots.

they have employed professionals in Edinburgh who will provide support, you can either call them or live chat on the app, no bots.

There must be a few exclusions e.g., debit card deposits to gambling sites.

Yes. There are a few exceptions. For example, you won’t earn cashback when you use your debit card to pay for items in antique shops, estate agent fees, or for gambling and betting

Edit - Also not on account and prepaid card funding, bank fees (incl loan fees), cash withdrawals, college and uni fees, crypto, debt repayments, deposits, money transfers, pawnbrokers, securities, tax payments, travellers chques and fx, etc.
These are just some exception lists where you wont earn cashback.  They use Merchant Category Code (MCC) to work out whether you can earn cashback on a transaction.

They are offering cashback for a period of 12 months from the date you activate cashback.  They may stop earlier and 30 days notice will be given.

Or your GIA, Sipp and ISA?  I expect it'll be capped.

they say not on securities - stocks, bonds, commodities and mutual funds so I think wont get cashback by adding money on GIA, SIPP or ISA

Sounds like they might be trying to go for a mashup of First Direct style telephone service with the advanced app features of Monzo and Starling, plus a sweetener to attract customers.

If true, it sounds rather appealing!
There’s been a few times recently where first directs service hasn’t been so good for me. Be interesting to see what chase works out like.
