Morning
Not surprisingly, DH is unwell this morning.
I am up, showered, dressed, had a more-substantial-than-usual breakfast, ready to face whatever the day brings.
I have sorted the papers that were strewn across my desk and the study floor, rearranged some files on the bottom shelf of my book wall so that I can get to the spare printer paper more easily, and in doing so decluttered all the half-packets of business card blanks and half-used blocks of file paper (which date from well before the millennium), freeing up one of the plastic magazine files for other thingsIt feels better in here already.
Hoovering etc will have to wait - I need to phone an expert now and get help to complete the last bits of this church bank account application.
Hope you all have a good day xx9 -
Morning! Super tired today as I've not slept well all week, worrying about life, the universe and everything...
I need some advice on bringing down our electric bill ASB...I'm currently paying £450 a month *cry*. I've always got the WM on as my household is mud-based, football obsessed and full of animals and their assorted carp. Any suggestions that don't involve me selling the boys? I'm very short of cash ATM, and need ideas on how to save a few pounds or make s few extra! Help needed ladies!
Picking rosehips today as they've ripened nicely, so I'll be making syrup and/or flavoured alcohol with them.
The usual farming duties beckon, so I'll be off in my wellies after this cuppa.
Pigpen - hats off to you for homeschooling... it is not something I'm ever willing to undertake again, for mental health and child safety reasons.
Urgh, now it's raining...10 -
Dizzy.. My bill is about £200 a month!! get a bigger washing machine so you do fewer loads.. or buy extra items so you don't have to wash as often. There are 11 of us here and I do maybe 4 washes a day on average.. I use the dryer for socks and pants and the rest goes out in the line, on airers or radiators and hung over doors. Swap lightbulbs, have a 'green hour' every day where you switch off absolutely everything electrical, get a dolly tub in the yard? become nudists? lights on motion sensors so they come on when you are moving and go off after a while, . As for the home ed, it is not through choice, she cried for 3 hours yesterday.. we both want her in school, but a school which is suited to our family needs and which is best for her mental health.Made Twinkle a drs appointment for Monday, the lump on her chest is still the same but her legs hurt and she is incredibly tired and white as a sheet with big panda circles on her eyes. I tried making my bloodwork appointment but apparently they suddenly couldn't hear me.. after a 5 minute conversation when it came to me the phone didn't work.. coincidence???TodailiesWashing to go out and a shop trip to trot..We need food for dinner.Girls staying hot dinner today.. assuming Twinkle gets one because the male idiot didn't tell the teacher (I am so done with the level of stupidity and slowness.. I had to tell him to walk faster than dawdle to get them to school on time this morning.. this should not need saying!!)Kitchen needs swishingI need to get a price for posting a bundle of bits..

Me back again.Feeling pleased with myself as I actually washed the kitchen floor. I think it’s a year or more since I last did it. I decided it didn’t need to be done perfectly so just grabbed the mop and bucket and had a quick mop round. It looks so much better and didn’t take long. I wonder if I will ever learn that doing little and often id better.9

Morning all
Hugs to all. I have managed to unload the DW, feed chickens and children, do school run and walk the dog. Oh, and poo pick. I have just braced the pile of paperwork / scribbled notes / post its on my desk. I have been putting it off but it's done now - not perfect, but better. I really want to buy a little pretty notebook to write my passwords in etc, but until some money comes in next week I am on a budget that does not allow for any non essentials.
Mademoiselle - well done you. I have no idea when I last mopped our kitchen floor - I keep thinking "what's the point, it'll be dirty again within a day". Kids, dog and chickens that like to wander into the house are not condusive to clean floors.
Dizzy - OUCH. That is a huge bill, I am guessing you have a lot of heat lamps etc for your flock? Have you had the meter checked to ensure it is working okay? That seems stupidly high to me, I would contact your supplier ASAP to review that.
Sending big hugs to all x

I'm popping in during my lunch break. It's been busy and far twot in the office and, as I feared, I've flumped when I've arrived home each evening. Today is cooler and, shhh, q-word.....hoping it stays that way. I can smell the weekend....and if I stand on tippytoes I can see it. 👀
I'll pay the rent and my leccy bill on the way home, (£26.66 for a month - but I do live alone) does that count as flying?
Love to all

Dizzy, can you change supplier to some thing cheaper, have a look at Martin's energy club, you will need to put in your details and current usage etc.Is the meter working ok, are the readings right, read it at least once a month, and take photos for your record.Unplug everything and see if the meter is still going roundDo you have an immersion? is it on a timer, does the timer need re settingIs there a main timer is that ok, does it need a reset or new batteries. If you only have one meter, can you 'charge' the business for its share of electricity?Get the kid to unplug their games / phones / lappy, when they are at school / in bed.WM doneDW sortedRead the rest of my book in the garden, while OH and the cat had gone back to bed.......................Pasta for dinner tonight.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hello.
After a night in the WAC because the carbon monoxide detector went off, I've done a work shift, walked the dogs and had a nap.Spend less now, work less later.12
