I know a few people that have had issues this time, I always find the webchat easier to get through than by phone if you wanted to contact them. The information Child benefit have isn't always the same information tax credits have.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
No, I was told by CB that they try to share information but it doesn't always get there when I let them know my Son was staying in educationchanz4 said:

Hi
im a little concerned then reading some replies as I contacted child benefit at the beginning of the week to advise them that my 16year old is continuing studying and she updated their records she also asked me if I had informed tax credits and at the time I said no, she said I don’t need to she will do this for me, me being a bit thick… said to her again “are you sure I don’t need to do anything else with contacting tax credits?” And she said again no, I usually get tax credits paid Monday, at the moment on the app it still says no payments due? Am getting a bit concerned now should I be? Sorry new to this and not sure how the system works! Thank you 😀0 -
If you have a gateway account you can update through there, I wouldn't bank on CB updating TC for you.rae808 said:Hi

Previously I've found TC system updates quite quickly to any changes.
The webchat is usually easiest to contact them but may need to wait for first thing tomorrow as they have been really busyMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Thank you so much for reply. Yes I’ve got gateway account just gone into tax credits no payments showing on there, when I try and update my daughters situation/education etc… it comes up with a section saying “end education/training” so am assuming they have been told? It’s like a bleeding minefield lol!!! So confusing 😀0

Just to update, just got off the phone to tax credits and they said there is a pending update so within the next couple of days will be sent a new payment schedule etc, its just where she is going into college. So I expect others will update in the next couple of days as well if not done already
Though to add, 25 minutes on hold!1 -
The exact same thing happens every single year at this time. Tax credits are re-calculated usually within the first 2 weeks of September. Naturally, they won't update everyone's account at the same time. Those still waiting will evetually receive confirmation of the the new payments on their tax account.0

Hasn't happened to me for years, get a new calculation but never payment stopped.
My greatest fear is that instead of paying in what they should of done today next week, they will spread out the payment. Not sure if I can spread my bills over a year, was supposed to pay the bills today. Thought it would be seamless considering I let them know in June!0 -
Mines been updated! Finally. That's a weight off my mind. Although because my payment was 2/9 it has left us short this month.
