Our eldest once brought me a fledgling. I chased him out the kitchen and he dropped it. I thought it was dead but it was frozen from shock. It started to move about and even ate a few seeds. After an hour or so it had perked up and I decided to take it to the trees at the back of our garden. I saw our eldest watching me like a hawk - his eyes glistening in the warm sunlight. 'Don't you dare', I said. I couldn't reach the branches so climbed onto the garden bench and put the fledgling onto the garage roof. I felt like a proud bird mum as I watched it flap its wings. Then the idiot flew to the ground, whereupon the cat grabbed it in his jaws and ran off.3

Ours is far to keen on ridding the area of rats. The problem is that we are part of that process as well when going downstairs in the morning to dispose of the bodies.1

Our 15 month old Maine Coon had taken a leaf out of her brother's (6yr old Burmese) book and jumps up for cuddles.Problem is he jumps up at the front with plenty of warning, she goes for the back with none...May you find your sister soon Helli.

Then there was the time when our first cat was still a tiny kitten with tiny kitten claws....
The OH had just got out of the shower and put on his bathrobe when the phone rang. He sat on the edge of sofa to chat and that's when the kitten thought he had spotted that the OH had a "mouse" and attacked.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Our cat's not a great hunter - we very occasionally get brought a fledgling sparrow in Spring. But over the last 2-3 years he's brought home 20+ cat collars (not his). Thing is, I know which cat they come from because they all have the same magnetic pendant on them, and I've seen this cat from a distance wearing one, so this poor cat presumably then can't get back in through its own cat flap every time it happens. I've posted on my local area's facebook page and knocked on doors, but still can't work out where this cat lives. It must be getting expensive for its owner...0

@KittenChops
Maybe your cat is borrowing to go visiting and scarfing down all the food when the other cat is meowing at the locked door! Or shedding the couch and pooping just outside the litter tray so the resident cat gets blamed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. My 6th month old Molly is a good girl. Apart from nearly having the Christmas tree over and pinching ham from the kitchen, she is very well behaved.1

Thanks all. This thread has cheered me up.I have lost my 4 cats over the last 3 years. But they were all of an ages and 3 were reasonable (don't ask about the 4th I'll cry).I ahve a new one now. Mia. She has some oddities. Adandoned very young and hand reared. Meow is croaky. But not in an ill way. Maybe from hand raseing. She can do it right but her normal hello! one is a bit odd.She has a habbit of chewing into treats if she gets in the cupboard. First time she really ingested a lot of plastic, But she was off to a stay at my mothers and thankfully gets car sick and it came out on the way. Did it again a couple of days ago but no massive chunkls missing and she seems ok. Is eating and pooping so yeah all nortmal.2

One of my cats brought in a half-eaten sausage that he'd stolen from the neighbour's BBQ once
Another one, who was sadly put to sleep a few months ago at the grand old age of 18, used to regularly jump on the kitchen counter and spray urine into my toasterI had to replace 4 toasters over the years due to this strange habit!
My only current cat used to steal and bring home the fat balls that another neighbour put out for the birds in their garden - before she progressed to catching the actual birds, which she found even more exciting.0 -
Many years ago I got my first freezer. I left a couple of sausages out to defrost and rather stupidly left them on the worktop instead of putting them in the fridge. When we got home from work they had disappeared. One of the cats didn’t want any dinner
. I kept a very close eye on him for days as I wasn’t sure what half frozen raw sausages would do to a cat. He was fine, I assume he had the constitution of his big wild cousins, tigers, who apparently can eat almost anything.
