NSD 1/20 today.Seasons of mellow fruitfulness are upon us.I do like soup season. I’ve started thinking about warming comfort food and looking up recipes. At the end of last winter I discovered the joy of YS mushrooms and made loads of mushroom soup. So easy. So bloomin’ tasty. We love a hot chocolate in this house too - specifically Twings.
Exercise should celebrate all the things your body can doI’m going to count daily housework as exercise - it’s got the double benefit of being exercise and keeping the house clean and tidy. Anything more than that is a bonus to me.
Planning ahead is essential.I’m keeping a lookout for gifts for THAT day. Got a few things already for DS from cs.
Traditionally September was the month for signing up classesI signed up for a course in project management which starts in a couple of weeks.
Embrace the concept of 'getting there slowly'.Slow is my thing. I am a turtle after all.
Mental health and meal planning.Meal planning is now just part of our routine. I’ve been doing it for a few years and I can’t imagine living any other way. It removes some stress. And it saves a lot of money. I’ve got a 3-week meal plan at the moment but I’ll need to make some adjustments for the colder months.I’ve not got as good a grip on my mental health as I have on meal planning. Maybe I never will. But I always try to improve how I feel about myself and others. It’s an ongoing process for me. I read, watch, and listen to quite a lot of content on mental health. I try some of it. Some things have worked for me. I’ll keep doing those and I’ll keep trying others.
Budgets should be set before the start of the monthBudgets adjusted now that OH is finally bringing in an income after 8 months! Focus is on replenishing emergency fund and paying off mortgage early. Going to try and stick to living on one wage - we’ve got used to it now and we’ve never felt deprived by it.
Extend a hand to those who are struggling.Goes without saying.
Reassess your goals and habits.A continuous process. Little by little.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7 -
Feeling much better today (still have a cough but it's not troublesome). However I'm struggling to walk or put weight on my left leg (knee mostly) so spent most of the day on the bed firstly tidying and then chopping and peeling 9 onions, several large carrots, an end of celery and some tiny potatoes to go in with brisket (was delicious but took such a long while - took a bowlful of veg before the end of cooking time) and then 2 red onions, half a courgette, 6 mushrooms and a couple of pepper which already had a slice taken out - that will be roast vegetables to go with chicken tomorrow. Lots of onions left so have plans for another couple of veggie dishes (if only mum hadn't decided 'we' didn't need most of the takeaway and old ice cream boxes I was using for hm ready meals).
Ate the last of the vanilla ice cream with the remainder of the half pack of frozen berries I'd defrosted which made space in the freezer for the other piece of brisket, 2 packs of bacon and 2 packs of cooking bacon (don't want mum turning them all into pea soup). Finished another book and the one I ordered arrived about half an hour ago, so have something new to read. Going to curl up and read shortly as I'm already yawning. Have a number of small tasks I want to do in the morning, in case I need to take further action. No money spent today.
Grateful for berries and ice cream (I've covered the purple/ red/ orange/ yellowish end of the rainbow), being able to see what's in the fridge, having cream to put on the bites I acquired yesterday (midges love me, other biting insects as well but midges can't get enough of me)

Just lost a long post setting out my goals for the month. Will do that tomorrow on the laptop rather than the iPad.
NSD 2 today. I will go for the 20 NSDs but hoping I might get more.
Budgets are all set. We are starting to go into the office 1 or 2 days a week from the mid September so I’ve set aside enough travel costs for 6 days so I don’t lose a NSD for travel. Don’t think we will be in that many days yet but anything left over will be a bonus.
I’m grateful today for lovely sunshine so I could eat my lunch in the garden. Bids on 2 of the 6 items I listed on the bay of E so and 8 watchers on another so it looks like at least 3 items will be leaving the house and a few pennies will be coming in.
Back tomorrow with more of my goals for the monthThat money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"7 -
CEW, you don't lose an had for spending on travel, as it's an essential.Today I am grateful for cycling to (and from!) work, for getting stuff done at work (no pupils yet...), for dc having a good day, for good weather, for bumping (almost literally) into an ex colleague on my way home and having a quick natter.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Covering days 1 and 2 here...
Not at an average 10k steps yet, sadly but have been very busy in new job - which has included periods of sitting down for training. Will aim to rectify over weekend.
Grateful for lovely and thoughtful colleagues, for opportunities, for a shiny new diary to write in, my cleaner (coming in tired to sparkling kitchen sides is fab), for my boys sorting out the laundry the past 2 days, for hot buttery toast.... 🧇🧇I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -

Wishing you well for Saturday Icc
Another busy day, work went well apart from an hour's blip in the middle of the day. Hubby flew home from hospital, he's doing really well, but can't do much with his right arm, so I'll be on cooking duty for a while longer. Good to have him home again. Washed up after tea & managed a few rows of knitting, pleased tonight's to do list is a bit shorter, as I'm absolutely shattered!
Grateful to have hubby home, time to knit, my free toaster arriving in the postUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Quick post before bed.
Hugs to those who struggle with health today.
Didn't manage the gym but did 14000 steps in work. Helped a few colleagues as I'm not that busy.
Does anyone a good source of thick candles?
