Oooh, I would like to join this please? I'm just back on the forum after a year long leave of absence, where things have slipped slightly, and this sounds like a lovely way to stay motivated.
Seasons of mellow fruitfulness are upon us - They are indeed. I am out twice a day walking my dog, and have been able to start munching on this season's brambles (blackberries for the English). I'm thinking about making some jams this month. Will have to see if I can fit it in. I love Autumn - the colours, and the crisp mornings.
Exercise - I have my two dog walks a day. I'm going to make sure they happen and aim for 10,000 steps a day for September. I'll need to up that to a bit more in October as I'm doing a sponsored step challenge for the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK
Planning ahead is essential - when I started this pay month a few days ago, I really hadn't planned ahead much. I have a spreadsheet, but I hadn't adjusted anything for events that were happening. I've done all this now, and I've got three birthdays this month that are now covered, a meal out, and a few other little bits. I've also gone through the s/s for the next few months and made sure it is up to date and money is put aside for my car's service and Mot, birthdays and the day that shall not be mentioned.
Traditionally September was the month for signing up classes - I'm not really i the mood to sign up for a class or earn a language just now, but I could try and reach myself crochet. I've been meaning to for years. I also need to teach my dog not to play with my yarn, so small learner project would be useful just now!
Embrace the concept of 'getting there slowly - I think I'm just need to bear this on mind on this money saving journey. There is no magic wand, and I just need to do the work.
Mental health and meal planning - my mental health is okay just now, but I always need to keep an eye on it. I have meal planned for the month, and it should have enough fruit and veg. I will have to do a few more wee shops just for fresh bits, but hopefully will be able to avoid off list unhealthy things!
Budget - it is a bit of a work in progress this month, as my original one wasn't very useful as I hadn't gone through it. I'll aim to have 10 NSDs and stick to my revised budget and see how I get on.
Extend a hand to those who are struggling - I am part of the organising committee for a charity dance for our local food bank this month, and next month I am doing a step challenge for a breast cancer charity.
Reassess your goals and habits - I think this is very much what the month of September will be about for me. I'll need to reflect on what I'm doing and pick up on where I'm going wrong.
Live the good life where you have been planted.

Happy September! NSD#1, I'd actually managed 18 last month, so will see if I can do as well this month.
Feeling tired today after all the exertions of yesterday. A good day at work, took more things to the dump. Hubby's op went well. He only left the surgical ward @7pm, & didn't feel up to chatting on the phone, but he did reply to my message, so put our minds at ease.
Had a good chat with DS2, he & DS1 had been planning for a couple of years, to move away together in the future. DS2 has now changed his mind & told DS1, who didn't take it well. DS2 has struggled with confidence for a while, after bring bullied at school, but I praised him for feeling strong & voicing his thoughts, & we had a good bonding session.
Shortened some trousers for a customer, washed the dishes & caught up on this thread. Really enjoyed reading everyone's posts today, they made me smile.
I love this time of year, I don't attend evening classes any more, but instead set myself a challenge, eg learning to knit on a circular needle, knitting a jumper from the neck down, etc. Love cosying up with a good book & crunching through autumn leaves too. DS2's birthday this month ( money saved in an envelope ready), but otherwise shouldn't have any big spends.
Grateful for hubby's op going well, a great talk with DS2, scones he made at college, supportive colleagues, & you lot! 😘Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Good morning,
managed NSD number 1 yesterday and walked home from work (4.5k).
Oh and forgot some frugal news. Just rediscovered the community garden next to my work, free plums, berries and apples (although the latter still need to ripen). Went down just now before lunch for a wee forage.
We now also have a so called community fridge nearby. It's not a food bank more a food waste solution. Nearly or out of date food is handed out for free. I get most of our bread and rolls there now. It's not so good for other staples (hence it's not a food bank) but sometime you get a wee gem like expensive tea, lemon grass or fancy grains. Today I got a home grown marrow, rolls and salad.

How to Have A Hygge C'mas
Light Add some twinkle lights to your plants and shelves. Light some candles.
Nature Bring some natural decor into your home, some pine branches or a real wreath. Collect some pinecones in a bowl.
Add comfort Add some cosy blankets or pillows to your chair. Snuggle up and enjoy the cooler weather.
Bake Bake some delicious biscuits or make cinnamon scented ornaments.
Cosy Up Cuddle up and make time for yourself. You deserve it. Curl up with a good book or a film. Add hot chocolate
Cook Cook a warm meal with friends. Time spent with friends making memories is very hygge (hoo-gar).
(Shannon Torrens - a minimalist, hygge blogger).
I've included this not because I want to pile on the pressure but it sounds a lovely way of embracing the whole changing of the seasons and it's gentle and things could be added slowly, one at a time
If at first you don't succeed, it's only "attempted murder". (no drinks all over the keyboard please).

NSD number 1 today. Am self isolating before hospital on Saturday. Got a message from a manager I met earlier this week that his daughter has tested positive for Covid today, I'd already tested myself (negative) so will do another one tomorrow and Saturday morning.
Other than that not much else to say. After saying yesterday I need to learn to be more patient I have to admit I'm so bored at work. I've gone from having 15 cases and barely spinning all my plates to having one so far in my new job! I know it won't last so I REALLY need to work on making the most of it.
Also now want to go and look up lots of hygge decor/style online as I love it, thanks @mothernerd.6 -
Seasons of mellow fruitfulness are upon us. – Will look into getting some hot chocolate in, already have candles in. Will try and go to park on days off work to see the change in the trees.
Exercise should celebrate all the things your body can do – I am on my feet all the time at work but I do move about as well, so will include that as exercise. Will try and to for walks on days off.
Planning ahead is essential. Do have birthday cards at home and have to send off 2 cards off this month.
Traditionally September was the month for signing up classes (GCSEs to masters but also what used to be known as evening classes). Not going to sign up for classes. Will dig out some small cross stitch kits that I already have, to do when I have days off work.
Embrace the concept of 'getting there slowly'. – This I really have to look into sorting somethings out.
Mental health and meal planning. – Will be carrying on to be doing my self care for my mental health. Will be doing meal planning and have to be more mindful regarding getting cake etc.
Budgets should be set before the start of the month (please try to stick with them). – Budgets done, includes haircut and dentist. Aiming for 20 NSDs.
Extend a hand to those who are struggling. – Will make a donation to charity.
Reassess your goals and habits. – Will be doing.
NSD 2 today.
Grateful for:
Good day at work.
Relaxing bath.
Good timings for catching bus to and from work.
