Today I am grateful for having people to talk to, for a quiet day, for getting to the gym, for knowing the route to take to avoid the total gridlock on the last mile back from the gym (not petrol related!), for dh prepping tea.

Grateful for food deliveries, deciding not to go into town (far too much effort), the shed (can put all the heavy stuff in there in bags until I'm able to deal with it), DS3 already thinking about paying cleaners to come in and sort my house (and he's going to do his best to put the chocolate cake in the bin this time). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6

I started the month so we’ll posting almost every day but the last couple of weeks I’ve slipped a bit. I do read along every day though.
Today is NSD 20 so doing well on that part of the challenge.
It’s been a very strange day here weather wise. It really hasn’t known what it wants to do. Rain one minute then sunny then overcast then rinse and repeat. it’s finally made it’s mind up and is now constant heavy rain, much to the disgust of the dogs.
I refuse to put the heating on yet but did bring my Dyson fan / heater down from upstairs and put that on for 5 minutes a couple of times today.
Grateful today for good coffee, salad already prepared for dinner, that I don’t drive so I don’t have to contend with all the numpties panic buying. That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"6 -
I did a test run on the heating tonight - 1 hour to make sure all the rads were coming on, no air blocks, no stuck pins in the thermostat turn-y bits, nothing needs bleeding. Going to have to buy new pjs for the 2 smallest. They all have fluffy blankets on their beds, we have enough hot water bottles for everyone, they all have fluffy slippers, they managed to trash their bedside lamps, so got them one new bulb and one new lamp (charity shop gorgeous blue petrol-shiny mirror beauty for £5 with bulb). Then DS4 knelt on his laptop and killed it. They value nothing.Grateful for: The Aubergine: that purple love balloon; forward planning: stuffed and baked some apples on Sunday and put them in the fridge; c/shop bargains: new jeans for me!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hubby spent again today, so I ordered a couple of presents for DS3's birthday.
Good day at work, helped a pupil do two large pieces of work, which is a rarity! Cut up discarded tree branches ready for next year's firewood & the thinner bits to take to the dump tomorrow. Sat hand sewing the rest of the night.
Grateful for pupil working hard, colleague telling another that she trusts me with her confidences, booking the boat for our trip (no cabins left, but on the waiting list), have a sleeping pod each in the meantimeUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I did a food order on Monday for delivery yesterday but wasn't well yesterday and felt worse as the day went on. Planned short trip to town looked less likely (probably need 2 trips to different parts of town for various random items and things like taking the library books back) as the day progressed but in the morning felt ill enough to try for a same day delivery for easy to swallow food and extra drinks (have been drinking at least 6 litres a day and up to a litre per hour at times so not lasting as long as planned). Got to the end and then it said delivery wasn't available until today, so abandoned it in disgust (so spoiled I have become).
Visitor came at lunchtime but had phoned up earlier to say she was doing a chip shop run and what did we both want (mum paid). It was lovely but I couldn't eat it all - mum nearly fell off her chair in surprise. None of us managed to clear our plates but I stopped first. Then sat in the armchair for a couple of hours, drinking water. Had thought I might ask the visitor to drop me in town but really, really didn't want to move (flu like aching down to my bones, evil cough is back, hobbling when I walk, going dizzy if I bend down).
Went back to my room and thought I might as well put the order in for today (still needed/ filling gaps) and it said there were slots available from 5 pm. Decided it would be most inconvenient if both deliveries arrived at the same time but wasn't hanging around until 9 pm so both booked in the 5 pm to 7 pm slot, then went through my 'list' and did a few random orders (semi medical - proper supports for my feet, much needed soft toothbrush - medium heads sent last time and a start on some gift items from my 'wish list').
Brought mum's washing back in to be spun and put on the radiators. Ate a small piece of cheese and 2 cut up apples whilst watching quiz shows. Small delivery turned up just after 6 - he put it on my trolley and I was half way to the back door when he said the other delivery had turned up. Put bags inside the door and took the trolley back to the gate. Had already decided that all the tins etc could go in the shed until I was stronger, just a few fridge/ freezer items and 'perishables' to take inside. 3 Items unavailable including the most important (have been waiting until I had freezer space - it's been on my list for over a month) but never mind.
I did manage a little more food audit earlier in the day and did put some things in the available spaces. Lots of bits to use up before they go off or get lost. Think today's menu will be based on raw veg and dips - easy and healthy. DS3 did a good rubbish round up (including the chocolate cake) during the night - said he's been feeling lonely in the afternoons so has switched back to being mainly nocturnal (more friends to chat to online).
Grateful for wallowing, lavender salve for headaches, rain watering the garden (and filling the water butts, I hope), easy food, sleep, the bed.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Morning
Long day at work yesterday but managed a NSD, nowhere near double figures this month though. Had a good meeting with boss and colleague yesterday, got to be in the office twice a week but i have to go in for meetings anyway so that will cover off a large proportion. Boss is restructuring but looks ok for me and colleague to be slotted into similar roles. There was a buffet available last night so i ate far too much oops. Will try to get eating back on track today. Off to work again for another eve meeting but hopefully it won't be torrential rain like yesterday.

There is a pin that sometimes gets stuck - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOqb7Wuw-ScLiterally a 1 minute fix. Really easy. 90% of the time a gentle knock with something heavy will ping it back up. The other 10% of the time it is the bit inside the screwy thing that just needs a little oil.Plumbers will charge you for a whole new thermostat just cos they feel bad for charging you call out for a 1 minute fix.
