B and q kitchen

The b and q recommended fitter had to come round to check the measurements before they would refund us and had to confirm we measured it correctly which he did then they refunded us, the compensation i want to claim is why should i now have to pay for a fitter and waste 2 weeks leave because of there mistake.

I have ordered a howdens one now, but been left 2 months without a kitchen its striped bare, i know that b and q only supply the kitchen but we bought it because its cheaper and i can build and fit it so no extra labour just time off work, thank you for your advise as thats what i really wanted.

Still doesn't explain the £4K loss incurred though.

Ok so i had 250 skip 100 air fryer oven which they have agreed to pay for 1660 to fit it and we all know b and q is the cheapest kitchen so another 2000 on an identical kitchen, is the total amount i have spent because of the mistake made by b and q now i get they wont pay for the extra kitchen u understand that but 4 k is what i have had to pay from my pocket because they designed it wrong.

Also they was unable to supply the correct parts to put it right, my house was unliveable with appliances and draws and doors in the front room, hall, and landing. I had no option to get a refund as the could not give me a date when the correct cupoards would be in stock,

I payed for a skip that went i now need to get another one when the kitchen comes £250 cost to me, i sold my oven as it was a range and i had a new cooker coming left me with no oven so i had to buy a new temp oven to cook food £100 cost to me, i have to now pay a fitter £1660 cost to me,ordering a howdens kitchen £2000 extra cost to me, now if the designer would have designed it correctly with the measurements given i would not of had to pay a single £ of these costs

Ok, so you want to be compensated for the inconvenience? That is highly unlikely to happen. Getting a new kitchen fitted is time consuming and disruptive, it comes with the territory.

Just so you know, my kitchen was ripped out about 3 months ago. It was relocated and the worktop won't be in until mid-September and for the last 2 weeks I have had a kettle and a fridge (not even an inch of surface to work from). Its no one's fault, just the way a large building project goes.

Yes but this is someones fault, because the kitchen was in my house i started putting it together and had leave from work to fit the kitchen so it was all ready to go, they supplied the wrong parts and could not get the right ones, the units were to tall, we never got given and height measurements to even check whats the point of us giving correct measurements if they dont use the i might as well of just designed it myself, b and q offer to design your kitchen which they did wrong why should i now pay to get it fitted at my cost when they designed it wrong?

I can understand you smarting; it IS someone's fault, and they should be accountable but a fundamental and often painful truth is that life is not fair. 

You won't get the opportunity costs out of B&Q, just a token "goodwill" payment.
