    Good Morning Wannabes  :star:

Hope you are all on for a lovely Thursday (feels like Friday - I hate that!) still at least we get a 3 day weekend this weekend.

I finally got the old default fees back from Barclay card (£148) late yesterday and I paid 80.00 off my Simply Be bill. Kept a little in the bank for weekend incidentals although I do not have anything planned but you always need a bit spare right.

Counting down the days too my holiday now

    Have a great day

Fantastic news on the returned default fees from Barclaycard!  Great you have used some to pay off Simply Be.  Appreciate you keeping some aside for weekend incidentals, but what if you have anything left over?  Will you be using that to go towards Simply Be as its something you wouldnt normally have had?

    Hi Shell,

Yes anything left over I will pay off Simply Be which I am hoping will be the case, I really am not anticipating any spend but we do have family down this weekend and I wanted a buffer in case of coffee's / pizza etc

    Those blimming social activities again!

    Good Morning and Happy Friday

More changes a foot, I realised after speaking to other people we are heading on holiday with that something was wrong with my booking and I had indeed selected the wrong date, all amended now but not quite as much back as a refund. £1000 back now instead. But this morning I got a small stay in our annex for £800, so that will be nice when it comes in. So worked out in the end.

As previous post I have a bit of cash left in my account for incidentals this weekend but hoping that I will not need to spend any and that will be used towards more debt on payday

I am looking forward to updating my totals soon

Have a great bank holiday weekend.

    Hi Wannabes,

Hope that everyone had a great bank holiday,

We had my Bro-in-law staying with us this weekend. I managed to avoid expensive takeouts etc! WooHoo! Did a small shop on Sunday to get my self a jacket potato and some filling after seeing it on someone else post.

On Sunday when the BIL had left and the OH was at work the whole house got blitzed, laundry up to date etc had my jacket potato for dinner and an early night. Yesterday just chilled with the OH who treated me to scone and tea at the local garden centre. (cream then jam by the way)

All in all a nice weekend with cash still in my wallet

PayDay has arrived, so day 1 of testing the new budget etc. I am going to spend sometime today ticking off what has been paid etc

I have also listed a handbag I never use on eBay this morning.

Tonight I have training session for a 2nd job I have taken covering someones maternity leave, (its only 1 hour week but a bit extra in the pot)

    Have a great day all.

  • Hello Wannabes,

Not much activity since the update yesterday, went through my budget and checked off that everything has been paid and a few bumper payments made on a few debts in line with my snowball and moved my spending money in to my spend account.

Waiting on my refund from Tui - had confirmation yesterday that it had been paid back to my card so guess will take a week to show up.

I also had confirmation that work bonus payments will be in September pay, unsure of amount yet but still super helpful.

Currently roasting the left over veg for a soup for lunch  - nearly ordered a subway so good move because that beg was on the turn and would have ended up in the bin.

Pretty much dinners for one the rest of the week due to OH working pattern so am planning a big pasta bake tonight which will last me a few meals.

    Have a great day all

    Thanks Shell,

I just updated my totals + the interest that will be added before next month, it was really motivating to see those numbers going down!

  • Morning Wannabes!

Refund received from TUI hazzuh! Able to pay another chunk off Simply Be which was great news. (had to give some to the boyf too as was his money as well, he has already paid off one debt for me so I need to do this as much as possible on my own. But he is being super supportive and doing all food shops etc)

Will get some cash today from the temp lodgers that will be our holiday spending money.

There has been some spending this week though, we have a Sky mini box in the annexe for lodgers and it is constantly dropping out and basically not working at all, therefore I bought and indoor ariel / freeview box thingy £40 but I will save the £10pm on a box that doesn't work.

Additionally I needed to renew some insurance for £40 and I need to purchase the relevant covid tests that we need for our trip to Greece in a few weeks as well as a few personal items for holiday, toiletries etc

    :confounded:
So a bit spendy for my liking but I suppose thats just the way it goes sometimes. The debts are being driven down so that is the main thing.

    Much Love!
