    Good morning all

Had a relaxed weekend managed to add £10 to my change pot/emergency fund up to £95 and made a small payment off my PayPal as they were chasing me  apart from that bill I had a non spend day and planning the same today.

No sales on my old printer or coffee machine yet :(

    Have a lovely Sunday all

Just to add counted all the change £85.81 woohoo - this will be a bit of pain to get to the bank so I am going to just sit on it for a while and it will go in to an emergency fund.

How "loose" is your loose change?

    £2, £1, 50p or mainly smaller coins.

If bigger coins, you could always take £5 or £10 worth with you to the shop and ask if they'll accept it in part (or full) payment and then pay on card for the balance.

Not so easy if they're mainly 1p and 2ps 😉
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

Who do you bank with? Our local Natwest has a paying in machine that takes coins of any value. Much like the ones you see in supermarkets, but unlike those there's no fee and it all goes straight into your account.

I bank with Metro Bank who have the machines but the nearest branch in 13 miles away. Not a big deal but will get over there eventually.

    Good Morning & Happy Monday,

After starting off with a lazy day yesterday I had a spurt of energy in the afternoon and decided to tackle the paperwork mound and open any letters chuck out the old stuff.

On my clear out I found an old lottery ticket from end of march with £11.50 to collect and $45usd from an old holiday! I am going try to pop to Tesco today and collect the winnings and change the usd for gbp.  I have always had a habit of keeping currency in case we go back but we went to New York in 2015 and currently have no plans to visit so seems silly to hold on to it.

And I just had the coffee machine I had on Facebook collected, I sold that for £70

Will run to the post office this week and deposit the cash in to my bank account it should be plenty to keep me ticking over for the incidentals until payday at the EOM.

I have a crazy week at work this week lots of meetings etc so activity will be a bit slower this week as I have some deadlines etc but my plan is to do one positive thing towards my situation each day.

Thanks to anyone that is following along have a great day

    Good Morning Wannabes!

After all my little tasks yesterday I had a fairly busy evening too. About 2 years ago we had planned to head on holiday to Jamaica the pandemic put the mockers on those plans and I have had a package holiday that we have paid for being changed dates and places frequently. The latest place was St Lucia - looking at the current restrictions there didn't feel like a great place to have a holiday.

We rebooked for Greece last night and bagged £1500 back! Its amazing really so we are going to cut in half and take some for spending money and the rest I will pay a chunk off one of my debts. It will mean I am also not dipping in to my monthly budget whilst I am on holiday and we also have 145 euros left from other trips.

So today I have just got work and I will spend some time recalculating my snowball as this may well bring some of the timeline forward likely to pay it off my highest balance/interest I think.

    Tonight spag bowl and chill!

    Have a great day all

Hey Shell, thanks for checking in.

I did sit down and reshuffle yesterday, (still waiting for the refund though)
But it would bring a lot forward and I think it would be best to look at the high interest first. It means that three (not including the Likely Loan) would be paid off one in Dec, then Jan and Feb.

Additionally I am due a bonus from work normally is paid Sep/October pay. Basing it off the same as last year it could bring that time line for all 3 to be paid off in November. Assuming that I will get roughly same amount. That will leave me to make a plan for the Likely Loan and as I will have got rid of the other 3 I will be able to throw quite a bit at it. etc - I still have not got all the details for that but its on my to do list this week.

Not doing much today currently on my lunch break before another 4 hours of meetings so not much activity in terms of getting debt free other than waiting for the refund / payday etc to roll round.

I have had some people interested in my annex flat so hoping that will work out soon

    Have a great day all!
