    Morning All

Thanks @Adeley, yes Im grateful in that I do have support in the family, I do have 3 sisters and my hubby and 2 daughters.  Its extremely difficult for us all in all honesty.  Im ok though, upset yes, but ok, thankyou xx

An update from me, Paid usual DD to Virgin CC of £117 today, this will be followed by usual payment to Lloyds CC either tomorrow or Friday and I should be around £35 to £40 needed to clear the £4K debt total so not far to go at all.  Prolific has £1.55 cleared with £5.94 Pending so would like to see a flurry of surveys today so I can hopefully cash out again. Ive currently got £12 in my PAD pot and hoping to get this to a good level to pay a chunk off one of the cards.  I also still have around £70 'spare' from my BG credit but saving that at the moment as im filling the car up around 3 times a week now.

I think thats about all for now, will update again when I can/when I have anything towards debt to pay.

I agree, the PAD thread has really made the biggest impact to my debt free journey and that inspired me to have my own diary and now, I can't imagine doing it all alone without either of them!

Have a good cry when you need to and take comfort in those around you. Dementia is a cruel disease for those suffering and for those that love them, as you see snippets of the true person and then they're clouded by the disease. Take each day as it comes and try and also make some time for yourself. Maybe every one in a while use £10 of your PAD Pot to do something for yourself. We often owe a personal debt to ourselves to do things that will benefit our wellbeing, so maybe that's something you could do that's a little bit selfish but a lot of comfort? My treat is having a £3.99 smoothie at Leon and sitting and watching the world go by. It's not much, but it helps me when I feel frazzled by what life is throwing at me.

Also, I'm getting excited about your loan ending this month (I hope I wasn't inattentive and missed it 🤦🏾‍♀️). Keep going, you're doing brilliantly xx

Thanks Keedie, I certainly will be giving myself some treats, I have already spent a little on me for my budgeting, so those should wing their way to me in a weeks time!  I have my last loan payment in 17 days then thats gone forever!  Lloyds keep sending me mail through the post stating im eligible for a good rate...I dont think so thanks anyway!

I have to say Prolific is showing no surveys at all, havent done a single one.....think its on a go slow or it may think I have done enough already.  Im at £2.49 cleared and £5 pending.  I have actually pinched LMD's idea of completing the curious Cat app for surveys as I only need 100 points to cash out, forgot I had the app in all honesty, but this will keep the PAD's going, when Prolific is being slow.

  • So sorry to hear about your mum. I know what you are going through, as we had the same problem with my mum about 12 years ago and also like you, she wasn't local.....300 mile round trip. I'm sure she is getting the best care now though.

Sorry to hear about yout mum, its very hard when they need to be in a nursing or care home however nice the carers/nurses are. A very good friend is getting to the point where they will have to convince their mum that they need a care home or 24 hour care, and they are also finding it very hard.  As others have said, remember to be good to yourself and you can always rant on here if you need to

Afternoon all, how did it get to Monday again!

Updates are few at the moment with all the running around im doing.  Mums house got cleared on friday and in all honesty I just needed a weekend off at home doing the things I love to do.  Very fortunate that we were childless too on Saturday night, so opted for a Chinese takeaway and G & T (several ) and watched some movies with hubby!  Just what I needed!

Budget is still not great due to amount of fuel im putting in the car.  I have around £49 that I have towards debt that I do need to use again this week towards fuel as Im seeing mum tomorrow and Thursday plus either Saturday or Sunday.

On the plus side I have been saving my PADS (Mainly Prolific cashouts) to go towards debt and I have another £49 to go towards my Credit cards, would like another £1 in all honesty so a nice round figure!  Will likely put towards Sainsburys CC as thats the next payment due near to end of month.  I also get paid on Friday, so Im looking to rejig some of my spending allocation where more is going in the Fuel pot.  Final loan payment is due 20th so should go out next Monday, cant wait!

Completed a great paying survey but oh my it was sooooo hard! Just over £6.  I have £2.30 cleared and £13.13 pending, so would like most of that cleared before I get paid.

Not much being left over from Grocery to add to my challenges either at the minute, although I did put away £8 from the grocery budget at the beginning of my mini weekly budget as im following a challenge called Twist and save.  Its quite good really!  I also have £8.58 and all my penny challenge towards the sealed pot challenge too.

Thats about all for now, as ever will update again when Im able to.

  • Just to echo the sentiments already shared. You’re doing so well and should be very proud of what you’ve achieved. The fuel prices are insane and are unfortunately a necessary evil for you at the moment.

I hope your mom is OK and being well looked after, and I’m really pleased that you took some time for yourself to relax a little. You’ve managed to clear the house quickly so that must feel like one less thing to worry about too.

Sending you a big virtual hug over the ether!
