    Morning All

Had a terrible afternoon yesterday spent at Blackpool A & E with my mum.  So very tired today and I have the joy of a 200 mile round trip today for work over to Hull area!  Im feeling it now I can tell you!

On the debt front, Prolific is still unchanged from last 2 days entries to my diary, not sure whats going on?  I have had £69.99 into my account from BG for the government help towards Utility bills so Ive sent that to a new PAD pot for debt and will be sending to one (or may split over the 3 CC's) day before I get paid on 18th October.

No PADS today as yet, will try and have a look later when I eventually get back home.

    Thats about all for now!

  • Oh no Shell, I hope your mum is OK?
Good luck on your travels today, not sure if you will be using the M62 but it's been a real pain over the past few days with one thing or another.  I will keep my fingers crossed that you have a stress free journey.

    Afternoon everyone.

Benn missing in action, lots going on with mum.  Very long story short, she has now transferred to full time nursing care.  Its been a stressful week, lots of tears from mum and everyone in the family.  I know its the best place for her though, and im sure things will improve eventually.

Budget with running about has been attacked, any spare notes form cash envelopes has gone towards fuel for the car in view of all the running about, its a 105 mile round trip every time I see mum. :disappointed:

Budget restarted for new Paycheck on 18th October.  Just completed my budget for the month.  Have had another payment of £66 from BG (its the 2nd in less than 2 weeks??) and also my expenses for using my car for business purposes and I cleared £99.45.  I have sent both those payments to my Debt Repayment account, so will likely send all to debt but in view of running about I may need to raid that cash??  If there is anything left before I get paid again, will ensure its going towards my credit card debt.

My loan is due out tomorrow and so will mean just 1 final payment remaining in November!  Woohoo!!

EF now fully funded since I started to target certain saving funds in an accelerated manner.  Focus this month and next is Vehicle Maintenance, by end of November should have pretty much the target of £500.

Need to draw £50 out for my monthly saving challenges which is going towards a 2nd EF (Target £500) which is a just in case fund....just in case I forgot to budget for something like school hols!

Thats about all for now, will update again when I can.

Oh Shell, that's tough for your Mum and you too - I'm glad she's able to get the care she needs though. Definitely a good plan to hold onto spare cash for the time being in light of everything going on. Better to overpay less than need to raid either the EF or worse, break out a cc.

  • Sending you and you mum lots of love, remember to be kind to yourself and don't burn yourself out trying to do too much.  I agree with @EssexHebridean that you should try and keep some spare cash as a back up.

I'm very sorry to hear about your mum @shell16, and I hope that she settles as well and as quickly as can be in the nursing home and I'm sure she'll be receiving the best care, but it is hard on them and us when they are unwell and needing more support. Please take care of yourself too and definitely keep some cash aside whilst you're juggling new expenses like an increase in petrol and with the cost of living etc.

You're doing so well with your emergency fund and your accelerated sinking funds, and well done you on that final payment for the loan next month.
