Parking Eye KFC no time allowed at all

  • Thanks for the advice everyone, I am going for Plan A now, as suggested, and contacting Derwent Group ,the landlord, to see if they will ask for a retraction of charges. Even their own map shows the KFC as part of the overall parking estate, the P/Eye cameras are trained on the 30 bays immediately in front of the building, all the adjoining spaces have no restriction and share the same asphalt/marking and street furniture design. https://www.thederwentgroup.com/portfolio/retail-leisure/walkden-retail-park-manchester/

Can I suggest you need to be more forceful with your request?

Perhaps asking Derwent to instruct ParkingEye drop the charges.
  • Thanks Keith, that sounds like a better tactic, looking at how many complaints there are on google/tripadvisor about the KFC Walkden tickets I'm really surprised Derwent are letting them impose the morning restrictions and make before 10-30 am tickets at £100  for 11min total parking time, especially as it's got to impact badly on their other clients, particularly Tesco and McDonald's directly adjacent.
  • @Jaffa_cake_4 what was the outcome? We've just had one as was parked on there for 13 minutes in December! It's an absolute disgrace!

Hopefully you have found the NEWBIES thread and know that PLAN A - which is not the appeal, that's PLAN B - normally works.

It would have been cancelled under instruction from the Derwent group, who were very reasonable about it, at one stage they said they would contact Parking eye and tell them to cancel it.

The fly in the ointment is that it turns out KFC do actually own, not rent the site from Derwent, and those few parking bays, so Derwent are not able to do anything.

Derwent were helpful and apologetic as it looks bad on them as they have 95% of the adjacent parking spaces to this patch, but could only advise to contact KFC directly. So far KFC have not replied or acknowledged anything to our appeals, and various flavours of demands for payment are now appearing from what seem to be shell companies/debt collection of Parking Eye.

Did anyone manage to get their charges cancelled? I have just received a fine of £100 for parking there for 6 minutes at 7:15am!! Absolute joke. Very crafty that KFC car park has different rules to the rest of shopping centre.

@bmjohn, did you notice that it is eighteen months since anyone has posted on this thread?

If you would like help with your issue, you are best advised to start your own thread as confusion will occur when people read old out of date stuff on this thread.
