Parking Eye KFC no time allowed at all

Had two "parking charges" of £100 each in a single week from Parking Eye, both for stays under 15 min on a KFC car park. I don't have any statements or receipt to hand from the KFC, so wonder how they can establish I was, or was not, a paying customer. Any suggestions on how to fight these totally shocking demands gratefully received. I didn't realise there didn't have to be a minimum "grace" period for shoppers before they could be hit with these demands. Usually there is a 1 or 2 hr period allowed on signage where camera number plate recognition is used.

Sorry, but 'usually' has nothing to do with it.

What do the actual signs say where you parked?

ParkingEye and KFC doesn't compute. Was this a shared car park facility?

  • Thanks all for your responses, the KFC in this instance is in Walkden, nr Manchester I see there is a bit of friction about it from a quick look at Google reviews for the establishment including a photo of a warning sign. My issue is the visits were timed between 10 and 15 mins by the entry/exit cameras. Both times after 8 am, but before 11 am which is  "store opening hours"

A few comments from google reviews ! Do you think there is any traction in a defence that after 8 am is within standard business hours and not unreasonable for a short stay even if the KFC does not actually open until 11am?

Not really , it's the same in Hyde except it is enforcement by CEL and not Parking Eye !!
Tends to be similar for most of the KFC car parks , no parking before 11am !! Limited to 90 minutes during KFC business hours. I think that when they are open you register your car inside on some of them

The Walkden one is the Ellesmere shopping centre , so not a KFC owned property , hence why it's Parking Eye but was CEL a long time ago
  • This is near the exit as you approach the drive in road
  • The sign within the car parking area
  • Interesting that the main sign is the wrong way around to see it clearly when entering the car park

You may have a case with entrance signage , but the ones in the car park are clear , no parking is allowed between 00:01 and 10:00 , so no wonder that the driver gets a PCN for being onsite prior to 10am

This is nothing to do with KFC , it's a retail park contract , for customers only , meaning when the businesses are open , defined as 10:00 to midnight
