Morning
I'm just as reliable as delivery services at the moment. I promised next day and here I am four days later
Still waiting for my cards, which are now pointless because I won't be able to get them written and posted on time, and my tree bauble. My secret Santa and pressie for the Head both arrived on Saturday. Just a bit too late. DD's parcel that she ordered and paid for next day delivery for on 7th Dec still hasn't arrived though and is now presumed missing. Waited for an hour on the phone to speak to someone only to be told that we would have to wait another 48 hours while they contacted the delivery company. Still nothing.
I wasn't too hungover on Saturday - just tired. Allowed myself a whole day of doing nothing except for tv and crochet but I am now starting to run out of time for present wrapping. Need to force myself to make a start on that methinks. I can use the time that I put aside to write out Christmas cards...
Sunday was a little bit of a busy day. Took dd to our big Covid vaccination centre for her second dose and then hit bee emm for some gift bags. They had no gift bags but somehow I still managed to spend £32which I really didn't have available to spend... managed to get some bags in the stretchy £ shop on dd's suggestion. She's a good kid and a really savvy shopper. Also managed to get what I needed for my niece's birthday on Thursday (poor kid - I always forget about her close-to-Christmas birthday). Now the only thing that I really need to get sorted out before Christmas are the meat (off to my butcher tomorrow for that), veggies and cat litter. And wrapping presents. Ugh. Where is my Christmas spirit this year? I might put Wonderful Life on later and wrap pressies while watching. If that doesn't sort it then nothing will.
Went out yesterday during the day into Newcastle for a 'very important work meeting' with the department that consisted of a burger and 2 hours of bottomless cocktails. Great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my only social night out this year. I did a LFT before I went out and will do another one tomorrow just to double, triple check. In my old age I made it home by 7pm and had a few cups of tea and was in bed by 10pm feeling ok. I feel ok so far this morning as well so fingers crossed.
Right. Onwards for catching up on here. Not giving up

DH bought 2 switches last month, one arrived, they claim they were both in the same box. Cue photos of the box that would not have and could not have contained 2 switches unless it was the tardis, and the weight on the parcel is not the weight of what it was supposed to be. Now they are 'looking into it', it is getting a bit close to the big day now, and only one present - one kid might just end up disappointed. Joy!!

That is stress you could do without @foxholes. I take it you are referring to Nintendo switches as opposed to light switches or similar.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Good to see you back posting @crazy_cat_lady. Some time off for Christmas is just what you need. Annoying for you that deliveries are not arriving in time.... or at all. As you are always so pressed for time before Christmas, I think it might be worth choosing a selection of nice cards, wrapping paper & gift bags plus any other every-year routine purchases (gift tags, sellotape) in the January sales. You will probably get them for at least half price - I got wrapping paper for 10p last January, then next Autumn, that will be a few things you don't even need to think about. I'd even be tempted to buy a book of generic 2nd class stamps to pop in with the cards, then you really do only need to write them & drop them into a post box. I'm definitely intending to buy 2022's wrap & cards after Christmas.
Defo sounds like some bad delivery disruptions up your way.
