they have it bagged up at the bakery counter in the supermarket, (well they do in my local sainsbury and safeway.)

that would explain only have very small safeway and don't go in sainsburys very often.0

mm, thats probably why.
i do occasionally buy it ready sliced, as its easier than slicing the stuff yourself, mines either thin as a tissue or thick as a doorstep. ;D0 -
We cut our crusty bread with the electric knife . I had never seen anyone do this until my husband decided to do it . Saves alot of messing about . ;D0

never thought of using electric knofe, will give that a go, thanks purdy. ;D0

You could try one of THESE 160.
I've never tried it but they are supposed to be good. 'Wedges and doorstops will be a memory' according to the blurb ;D
Has anyone got a breadmaker? Are they worth the money? I quite fancy the idea of homemade bread, but I'm too idle I'm not very good at making bread :-[.When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
I have a breadmaker galtiz, but i tend to buy plain bread and only use it for flavoured bread, (ie cheesy bread, tomato & herb bread, etc)
i like the look of that bread slicer, seen them in the catalogue, but it always looks like you have to hold the bread at a funny angle with one hand, and slice with the other to cut it, and that puts me off a bit. if anyone has one can they tell me if its any use.
thanks,

I've toyed with the idea of the Lakeland Bread Slicer for ages but never bought one so I'd love to know if anyone else has - and found it successful. I think it looks a bit awkward as well 160. Don't want to end up with yet another kitchen gizmo that doesn't get used :-/
When I slice bread it starts off okay at the top and gets thicker at the bottom. No hope really!0 -
