My contract with Plusnet is up for renewal. Despite quoting competitors' deals, Plusnet offered £25.99/month on a 12 or 18 month term, or £24.99 on a 24 month term. Other competitors are offering:
With Vodafone, I can get a £110 Amazon giftcard via MSE which is also tempting.
What are NOW and Vodafone like?
- Vodafone - £22/month - 24 months - 63Mbps
- NOW - £22/month - 12 months - 32.5-45.5Mbps
- TalkTalk - £23/month - 18 months - 36-37Mbps
- Sky - £28/month - 18 months - 32-37Mbps

All the Sky SRxxx routers are crap in the Wifi department. Now is just rebranded Sky. Same routers, same crap performance, different packaging. However the T&Cs for Now say you must use their router. How they'll police that is anybody's guess.Check your online portal as you may find the renewal offer there is better than they'll offer over the phone.1

Just tried the online Plusnet portal and the offer is indeed better than what I was given over the phone earlier. Online renewal is £22.50/month for 12 months.0

I have the exact same decision to make. I do have a offer from plus net for £22.50 for 12 months but ever since they raise BT sports price from £10 a month to £16, I just don’t see a reason to stick with them. Now TV offer the broadband for same price (not sure if there in any cash back on them from anywhere) but they do offer a now tv sports pass for £19.99 a month which is quite temping for me.0

I think there's £80 cashback via Quidco and Top Cashback for NOW.1

I'm thinking of going with Vodafone - same price but for longer, and the £110 Amazon voucher. Although I'll have to wait 24 months to shop around again, may be an advantage or disadvantage.0

I've just pulled the trigger on the Vodafone deal, moving from Sky Superfast. The best Sky could do was £28 again but without any calls at all (I was on E&W calls) so it was a no brainer. The Vodafone router looks better than the Sky/NowTV one, there seems to be a better spread of antenna and it'll be good to have the full range of ports back.lloydyyy said:I'm thinking of going with Vodafone - same price but for longer, and the £110 Amazon voucher. I'll be glad of the 2 year contract myself as it gets tiresome having to chase up deals on everything nowadays.
As an aside I've never had an issue with the Sky Q router excepting that one of the 2 ports has failed recently.1 -

I got that on renewal for 18 months for 40 Mb fibre plus evenings and weekend calls.lloydyyy said:Just tried the online Plusnet portal and the offer is indeed better than what I was given over the phone earlier. Online renewal is £22.50/month for 12 months.0 -
Since placing an order with Vodafone, Plusnet have made a better offer - £21.99/month over 12 months with no cashback, 18 months with £50 cashback or 24 months with £75 cashback. The cashback is guaranteed - it'll be sent to me as a cheque. I'll stay with Plusnet as the service has been solid and my BT Smart Hub 6 provides great Wi-Fi coverage around the house. Just can't decide on a contract length.

I spoke to them the other day and they quoted me £22.50 for 24 months contract and for 12 months contract, £25.99 which was reduced to £24 while I still see £22.50 on my online account for 18 months contract but he didn’t budge on any price cut for BT sports app which has gone from £10 a month to £15.99. When I asked him to send me an email with that offer so I can think about it, he was quite clear that this is a limited time deal and I may not get this good a deal if I didn’t take it at that time. I refused that offer and within 15 minutes, I had a email from plus net offering BT sports app for £10 a month for 6 months.lloydyyy said:Since placing an order with Vodafone, Plusnet have made a better offer - £21.99/month over 12 months with no cashback, 18 months with £50 cashback or 24 months with £75 cashback. Just waiting for end of the week to place an order so my go live date is as close as possible to contract end date.0
