Well it was a probate sale so I guess the bench wasn't there when the parents were alive and the beneficiaries hadn't got around to arranging it before sorting the sale.

true - but perhaps better if either the beneficiaries keep the place or say goodbye to it

If the bench could be installed in the bottom right hand side of the front garden, with it's own gate from the road, I may, just may consider it.   However, it's going to be in the back garden???  Sorry that's weird.  It also appears to only have 18 years left on the lease.

Woah up... The windmill itself is leased to the county council for 25p/year until 2049...? AND the outbuildings are let to a natural health centre...?

    Suddenly, the bench looks trivial.

We sold my grandfather's house that he had owned for nearly 60 years.

We certainly wouldn't dream of turning up all the time, but the person who bought it has a social media account and is always posting about what she is doing to the house.

What she perhaps doesn't realise is that me and many of my HUGE family are now following her to look at the updates! I quite enjoy it, as it will make a wonderful family home when modernised, although it is a little strange seeing it change so much!

But when she made a comment about having to get a professional oven cleaner in so that she won't die of food poisoning, I thought my aunt was going to go round and punch her!!! (She asked for the range oven to be left - and my grandad rarely used it so it was surprisingly clean when we went to clean it before the sale! We wouldn't have dreamt of leaving a dirty oven as it is one of my mum's pet hates!!).

I did do a drive by the other day though just to be nosy whilst I was in the area... :open_mouth:
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

As I said earlier, the bench was amongst many other things going against the property!

There's no mention of the upvc windows needing replacement in those details. IIRC it went up as SSTC and then came back on the market, maybe even more than once, and later listings mentioned the windows being installed against the listing/conservation area status.

Didn't someone post a link to a house recently, where the former owner was actually buried in the back garden?

Was that beside a great dane and a bag for life?
Ah a man of tradition - like a comfortable pair of slippers, or like the 9gag meme of the woman with hot dog sausages being thrown in her face.
