Wow, that really is spooky! Reads so similar to what we’re experiencing. That’s uncanny!

    Have you changed the locks?

funnily enough, yes! We actually bought new doors…

We got keys for the front door, and a bunch of keys that didn’t seem to fit any locks. Was only a few days after being in that we realised the patio door can be unlocked from outside… but we weren’t passed any keys. We’d been unlocking it from the inside turn-knob. A couple weeks ago my father in law said the door was unlocked when he came to do some work on the house, but I’m certain I locked it up. I wondered if the seller had been in to have a nosey at what we’ve been doing. We aren’t living in the house during renovations… there’s every chance!
Change those locks! If sliding doors, put a piece of timber in the slide, so can't be opened and as said get a camera up.

We bought a house where the vendor's mother lived over the fence at the bottom of the garden.  She kept complaining to our neighbour about what we'd done to "John's lovely lawn" etc.  John had actually built the house which was maybe why he was so attached to it. And wanting to come back and look for something they were sure they'd left behind. And when we ripped the old kitchen out the vendor found out and was most put out (again over the fence) saying "that was a good kitchen!" well maybe it had been once but it was cobbled together with upside down doors and offcut worktops... nothing as bad as what you are having though.  Hope it's just early days and he gets over it.  It's a kind of stalker mentality.  You can block his calls.  Or you could just bite the bullet and say "can you stop coming round please, it's upsetting my dog/child/partner."  We're so ingrained to be polite and not upset people, it's really difficult.
  • I would change the lock on the patio door as a matter of urgency, or make sure it can’t be opened from the outside.
Next time he messages, maybe you could reply that it’s all going well, and wish him all the best. As others have said, perhaps he has an attachment to the property, but his behaviour would make me feel uncomfortable. Perhaps he is renting locally before moving away, hence still being in the area.

This is really creepy!  I do remember the other thread about the redirecting of the post.  I was subscribed to it for a while, so I could see any updates.  But I think it has run it's course now.

people can get very attached if they have been there a long time, done a lot of work. We replaced the en-suite in a house (old one was ridiculously slate and marble, they spent a packet but it leaked to the room downstairs - time to get a proper shower tray.
Old stuff was in the skip, previous owner walked by and shrieked "that's my shower screen!"  - they had done a lot of work to the place and clearly were far more attached to the place than we ever were.

I remember my mother getting upset as the people who bought her old house were talking of ripping out her aga. (30 odd years on when that property came up for sale it was still there).
Some people keep an attachment to an old house, for me once I've sold it and left, it's no longer my problem. Although it didn't stop me waking up years after selling my first place having had a dream that for some reason I still owned the place.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

I must say I'm waiting for the skip to appear Flugelhorn - I wish I hadn't left my curtains and do expect to see them in there eventually.  Keeping my boot empty ready - joking. I was surprised to see my old neighbour and be told that the new owner's 'mother' has a foul mouth - I can't imagine what she has to f and blind about, perhaps our ghost has reappeared.

This crops up every so often as a thread. Seems to have got more frequent since 'Intruder' came out on Netflix.

I will admit that we have driven past our old house a couple of times when we have been in that area just out of interest and to be nosy but that is as far as we would take it. Anything else is just a bit creepy!!
