I ‘watched’ along on instagram ! My friends were near you on holiday at one point but missed you by a day as I’d told them to go and see you !

    welcome home 😁😁😁
Brilliant!!  Loving the virtual almost translating to IRL!
I had some friends fly in from Utah and I had not seen her  in more than 2 decades !

I also had the teatowels arrive yesterday - they are fabulous, bright and huge (not the La Plan ones yet) too late to sell as they were supposed to be a 5 week turnaround, it was more like 9 weeks!

I will take them on my trip next week..
However the costs per teatowel was just under £5 - i ordered 200 so £1k.
I am thinking of selling for £14/£15 what do we think? Its a bigger teatowel than standard and 100% cotton etc
    - what would you pay for a merch teatowel? I still have some of the badges and stickers
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I personally would not pay more than a tenner on a tea towel but that's just me!

I need new tea towels what's printed on yours, is it pretty 🤣. I've paid around £12 for one before from like a NT place (long time ago they're probably more now) and also ones from kids school with hand prints on the probably cost about the same.

You sound as if you are having fun, as well as pushing forwards with dreams.  That is all great. (No idea on teatowls as just buy them in the sales).
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Sounds like you are fully in control of everything and do not underestimate doing someone you love over making extra money. Shame the flat buying is on hold for a while (you know we like you keep you on track) but great if you can continue with the cheap rent and not have to move. As for tea towels that price would be too steep for me but I guess it depends on what it was. Say I had paid a lot to attend some kind of Bake Off event and I wanted a special memory yes I would then but as a Tea towel with no connection I would not.

I’m so very, very pleased to read that you are standing your ground with Big Client. It reads like you are come to the end of your patience with them …. Well done.

Super news that you have covered all your costs and all work going forward now will be profit. Do you have a rough idea of how much you are hoping to earn from the remaining events on this trip?

I’m beyond impressed that you even remembered to renew your contents insurance when so busy and so removed from home etc. 😂😉😊👏

Hope it all continues to go well 😊 Is there some downtime for you, in the midst of the maelstrom of the exciting work and networking and events you are describing?

I use my YNAB as a bills calendar so once I pay a bill /subscription I just set it as 'recurring' expense  (annual or 6 months or whatever) so bills no longer sneak up on me as the system just shows it coming from whichever account I paid it from  ;)) The YNAB really helped me not get carried away with spending even when the headline figures of sales looked amazing, cos I knew my costs especially advertising etc

Yes the idea is only to sell the tea-towel as merch after events - not online to strangers - hence the over £10 fee.

Yes feels good to be moving forward. I am looking forward to selling the teatowels next week to see how the price sits.. I have friends already wanting to buy but think I will set a lower eg  £10 price for them as I have to fork out a further £1k every time I order 200..
I will report back on the sales! I covered the cost price of my badges and stickers printing and made cash  with loads left so that has been a success.

I’ve been following along and am mystified by what your side hustle is! You sound very knowledgeable about it
Sorry to be so obscure  but its in the public domain and I am trying not to out myself online given all the finance details I share - it was my pre covid thing of a decade plus so I am experienced, proof about practice making things better - though I am still fine tuning.
The last 5 years of working is back to my first career banking - lucrative but it is not my  'dream/mission work'.
I have been doing and continue to do online social media/content creation courses as that keeps changing - the algorithms etc so trying to see where to best focus my energies there.

Tx! I will look at current NT prices
Yes it’s a truly fabulous teatowel  100% cotton, and bigger by 25% at least of a normal teatowel,  super bright, fun, probably only makes sense if you are aware of me !!
The £5 cost does not include the design costs plus p&p if I have to do that.
I need to work out a launch plan and maybe update my website to then set up a sales funnel.
My website needs a massive overhaul, just need time to focus. the class I did for 4 weeks really told me what to do and often how but now it is about practise

@beanielou yes I paid £9 for london teatowels to give away as gifts... think £9-10 is normal range (unless at prim**k etc

Love all the mystery LaPlan! But love hearing of your successes. It is inspiriing.

£10 would be my max for a tea towel.
