skint_spice said:I am much the same LWAP, I have friends that I have known since I was a teenager and even my newer friends are probably a couple of decades old. I sometimes contemplate moving further north but I would miss them.
I am now supporting a friend going thru a bad divorce and we have really seen each other go thru everything (birth, death, relationship breakdowns...family and money dramas). plus we have danced and celebrated too. We always know we will drop everything and help.
When I lost a friend 2 years ago as she dropped me cos her boyfriend kept hitting on me which i ignored then he grabbed me in public against my will .... and somehow he twisted it that it was my fault (you have to admire the PHD level of gaslighting given his hands were on me in an v uninvited place ) so she is 'angry' at me.. I am over it now but thats 25 years of partying, life, laughter, conversations. adventures, great vacations, drama you also lose. Of course she didnt just lose me but a large friendship group as everyone knows me and my morals - Sad thing is she herself is losing her supportive group becos of him and that can be very dangerous.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

That is a really sad story about your friend. PPH caused me to lose a lot of friends and when the dirt hit I was so alone I did reach out to some past people and shall we just say their reaction was to think it could all be patched over and when I left they dropped me anyway. So those people are gone from my life.
Saw the BJ film last night and it really is a celebration of friendship. That with the discussions on my diary made me realise how much I have to be grateful for.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -

Not speaking to people doesn’t mean you no longer care
@skint_spice yes it is worrying but she has always been a woman who drops everything for the man

I just finally watched Why Women Kill ( u can watch for free on u tv ) season 1 - black comedy by the guy who created Desperate Housewives
it’s such a brilliant series and funny too - but the 60s wife story line was brilliant and funny as she so outwardly ‘perfect’ - the neighbour was genius and Lucy Lui’s character was super fun too - can highly recommend

I watched the new Bridget jones with DD and i thought it was great to see her actually looking her age in it. - on the hormone talk I'm waiting for a blood test to see where I'm at...I eat so well for around 90% of the time and yet I have hardly any energy these days. I've made it through meno with no hrt but I am at the point of wanting to give in now and get something just to help my energy.
Glad you enjoyed that book...enjoyed probably the wrong word there....got some useful things out of it probably better way to describe it. I've stuck tabs on that book on nearly every chapter and had read it twice through now getting something new each time. I can be go go go like you and not know how to stop and it is exhausting as you get older. I need my 30 year old energy back 🤣.
Ps I am very sorry to hear about your friend passing. What an awful way to go 😔❤️MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. @debtfreewannabe321 the main reason I am trying the TST (after also now being on Ostregen and progesterone which has stopped the hot flushes and helping me sleep ) is for energy levels and I am now a week in and feel really good, getting a lot more done, and feel happy.
I am feeling its working and I have quite large boobs anyway so any man boobage wont be noticedI have also started singing around the house again
I will note to have your bloods taken - take the HRT then have a check up a few months later on the bloods as I waited a year thinking ot was all solved where my body did not take up the Ost gel and i was still low on levels . The first OST I had i puffed up a bit, then Ostegel was better but i was still low
Now I am on a higher dose and its the Lenzetto one now.debtfreewannabe321 said:

Tx re my friend - I think we all in shock at how quick a life can vanish. I dont think (and want to think) that he felt a thing, he just fell down stairs inebriated and banged his head and instantly he was brain dead. Its the shock of his kids (one of whom found him) and those left behind, he was a good nice intelligent charming man. Not perfect but tried his best.
Despite a long work day yesterday I then visited a friend in hospital who has pnuemonia - she looked so fragile and looked as if she had aged decades. She is apparently on the mend but I think it will take weeks for her to get her energy back. She is very slim anyway.
I know from when another friend was in a coma during covid for a long time that as he had a lot of muscle before he went in it can really help survival - as muscle does not waste away so quickly - it takes a while to build up and break down - as research has proven.
'according to research, having more muscle mass is generally associated with higher rates of surviving a hospital stay, as low muscle mass is linked to poorer clinical outcomes, longer hospital stays, and increased risk of complications, especially in critically ill patients; meaning individuals with greater muscle mass tend to have better chances of survival when hospitalized. '
So I am feeling grateful that the ems training over the last 7 months is building my muscle my core and legs feel strong, I feel physically strong.
London fashion week now so going to some shows over the next two days. Of course going to a fashion show you have to think about what one is wearing .... so will need some shuffling thru my wardrobes - yes there is more than one... I am not about brads or labels but creativity so lets see what I can rustle up - I am feeling with the ems though pretty great and my core feels rock solidDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
