I have a sage glass kettle which is small but suits me perfectly and I love it for the same reason. It is so restful watching the water bubble up as it boils
The clothes and travel discussion made me laugh, I flip between two extremes. An overnight in Paris I took a large handbag and that was it, a week in Sweden the friend I was with asked if I had bought everything I ownedI'm sure there is a happy balance there somewhere!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I thought of you today when we bought a new kettle (the lid had finally completely broken on ours, after we'd been using it semi-broken for months).
Not going anywhere near Smeg though after our hob fiasco - one unsightly rusting appliance in the kitchen is quite enough!4 -
I read a blog where he travels with only one outfit. 🤷Perhaps if I was a more standard size I would like clothes more. But I go into changing rooms with 10 items and one will fit.I would have multiple kettles though 😂 And a teasmaid.4

@WelshmansDaughter
one outfit! I think for some clothes are necessities I am more of an Iris Aprep / clothing is definitely costume and I like my costumes to reflect fun and where I am at that day (focused La Plan, floaty La Plan, fierce La Plan ) with cool accessories- in my Swedish death cleaning I am going nowhere near my wardrobes til the end
- plus a lot of my clothing collection is curated - from vintage, high end designer one offs - like SJP some of my house deposit is in my shoe collection
abroad at present in a gorgeous European seaside town - food is incredible, the Airbnb overlooks the waterways and gorgeous buildings.Right now from my balcony as well as the waterways, boats and beautiful buildings and old cafes I can see a fish stall that has a gigantic swordfish head with bits of him sliced into steaks - the guy is only here selling for a couple hours each morning plus another oysters /seafood place - all very clean, no smells etc
.. 32+ degrees and the sea is gorgeous
we went to Lidl and also there is a high end superstore that was heaven for local produce - we both could have stayed in for hours
plus eating at local places
I only went with my hand luggage (so only one pair of heels (sob) but I saved myself £80+ so
off to rent bikes before it gets too hot
happy Monday allDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
