Erroneous transfer nightmare
Hi If someone can advise.
I bought property around 21 months ago and thought paying gas and elec to bgas however have recently found that out that I was only paying for elec and gas was taken over by soenergy.
I’ve called so as they have different name on the ac and wont discuss any details with me Ive sent them my council bills to prove tenancy but they wany me to prove ownership. I am planning to send surveyor copy as don’t want to send my title deed. My question
- They have said erroneous transfer wont apply as its more than 12 months
- And do I need to provide title deed to prove ownership as any business can request land registry and find out who owner is?, but I don’t want to provide land registry due to data protection
Also what are my options now I know its my error as well I did not picked this early and took so long, however never received any bills from so in my name as they have online account for wrong name.

You could just call So and say I have just moved in and these are the readings.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Is So saying there was a balance outstanding when you moved in 21 months ago.
I presume you do not dispute energy costs over the last 21 months - just that the supplier then was So ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Does the So bill rate to your meter number ?0

My query is
- bills are not in my name
- never asked so to supply
- no one contacted or tried to look into the no payments
Am I not liable for billing code if 12 months?
