Just like PIP, the health assessment providers do not make decisions. They gather evidence, write a report and return it to DWP. The report is then part of the evidence, which a decision maker looks at and makes a decision.Deleted_User said:poppy12345 said:I never said they won't be able to update you. What i said was, that you didn't email ESA as you stated you did.I can tell you that there's huge backlogs for assessments at the moment and you could potentially be waiting many months. You only sent your form 2 weeks ago and that's no time at all to be waiting. If your ESA claim was payments then you would be receiving £74.70 per week, which is assessment rate and is payable for a minimum of 13 weeks. If placed into the Support Group once a decision's made the extra money isnt' payable until week 14 of your claim. If it takes longer (and more often than not, it does) then the extra money is backdated. In the meantime while you wait, you should at least try to put it out of your mind and think about something else. Also to add that you should expect an assessment because most people have them. It will either be telephone or face to face. Once an appointment becomes available they will contact you.So CHDA do not make the decision - that is down to DWP
What, exactly is the role of CHDA ?
So what do CHDA do ?Are they an admin company - who's role is to sort post ?
It would be helpful if you read the link that was posted, this would give you all the information you need.
Which is the company who recommended that I be medically retired last year!!

Just because they recommended that you medically retired last year does not automatically mean that you are not fit for work. It just means that you were not fit to continue doing the same job that you were doing before.
I know that this is an old case, but this proves my point.

Unless you've submitted relevant paperwork as some form of evidence they won't even likely know about that. And to be honest the Work Capability Assessment is a bit of a different animal looking at different 'activities' and disability in relation to them. I would try to get hold of a copy of report they've likely sent to DWP... that'll probably give idea what decision is likely coming as the DWP tend to go with the advice provided by CHDA.Deleted_User said:

How long do you reckon they will take to decide?
My medical retirement took 6 months to obtain due to the ineptitude of HML

There's no timescales for any decision.

Are you sure it was DWP that emailed you and not the health assessment advisory service? This is the first time i've ever known anyone be contacted by DWP decision maker via email.Deleted_User said:What are the odds that DWP will not even contact my GP ?I asked my GP this morning and they have not been contactedDespite an email, 2 weeks ago from DWP Decision makers - telling me to expect a decision within 3 weeks !

Update ...My GP was contacted and I have heard from her that I have been put in to the Support group (there is a letter from DWP in my medical records (although I have received nothing myself yet)) - does this mean that I will not, now be assessed ?0
