Can anyone help re: an order ~ told it's been delivered but I haven't got it!

Apologies for resurecting an old thread - and I hope this has already been resolved. I just thought I'd add my 2p in case it hasn't. I work for a mailing house and we send and receive 100's of parcels a week. Based upon what I've read I would have a major problem with Argos's reasoning that 2 parcels were delivered. If you have created 2 orders, even in error, I would have thought you'd have 2 seperate deliveries. I would doubt Argos are clever enough to amalgamate orders that are not placed in one go. There could have been 100's of orders placed between you first order online and your phone order. It is likely that the delivery person would have had two consignments rather than one consignment of 2 packages. It might be that the system the courier uses allows one signature for all consignments delivered to an address. In this case you haven't technically signed for 2 parcels. As someone mentioned previously a POD wouldbe very interesting. However, just in case I'm totally wrong, if you let me know which courier delivered it I'll ask one of the drivers when they're in about how the system works (assuming we use them).0

Argos used Home delivery network to deliver my parcel . I spoke to someone before christmas from Argos who said that they would have to find the parcel before they could do anything!! I remember reading on a forum somewhere before Christmas that someone had received an extra item from Argos not addressed to them so i know errors occur !
i have asked fror a hardcopy of POD twice now but still have not had it although Argos do say that it is an identical signature, I told them i bet it was as I have only signed for one parcel.
I did start a letter to them before christmas ( lengthy one) but then got a phonecall whilst i was doing it to say that it should be resolved soon as they were re-interviwing the driver ~ i did ask what they were going to gain from this as why would he suddenly remember where my parcel was ! Still purely down to my word against the drivers though.
If you could find any info out for me that would be great

I had numerous issues with furniture deliveries earlier this year, one similar to what you describe in the above, I wrote directly to the Managing Director (via e-mail) and received an extremely quick resolution to my problems, and my furniture being delivered 2 months earlier than the date I was given. I am happy to pass you the details in a PM if you wish.
Thanks.Hi Kevinc, that would be great it seems I will need all the help i can get as i am not sure what Argos are currently doing, I fully understand that people make mistakes especially this time of year but it seems that Argos want to sqeeze some sort of confession out of the driver and don't seem to recognise that errors can be made and at the moment I am being made to pay for their mistake as they keep telling me they have my signature.:AThis is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.Robert M.
