If you are worried Autosec are closed/closing down, state that you will claim against the landowner as a second Defendant. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

The OP has started three threads, all about Autosec...

@Le_Kirk
Hi apologies for confusion
TNC originally got my details from DVLA without reasonable cause - PCN said I had 28 to respond - i did within 14 days - V888 states that they were requesting my details as I had failed to respond within 14 days
DCBL are now chasing me - but at my new address - not the one on supplied to the V888 when it was in the hands of TNC. DVLA confirm there has only been one request for info - I "suspect" they got my info from the landowner1 -
Stick to one single ongoing and updated thread please, no more new ones whatsoever unless you get a fresh PCN!Now there is an important task to do in August:
The final Government Consultation into the level of parking charges, discounts, false ‘debt recovery add-ons’ (that no PPC actually pays)...
...and the Appeals Charter - that should IMHO result in full cancellations not enrich the PPCs by £20 or more because it would just encourage spurious PCNs that should never be issued...
... is now open!
See separate thread:https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6286801/government-consultation-re-level-of-private-parking-charges-now-open
This forum’s regulars are encouraging email submissions with evidence and photos, letters attached to illustrate what happened to you and why you are answering the way you are.
Please tell your family and friends to encourage colleagues who have had these spurious PCNs and claims to email their evidence to the MHCLG as shown in the Consultation and not just do the tick boxes. The Government want evidence - victims must give it to them. DON’T MISS IT.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

MHCLG questionnaire completed2 -
I have now had a reply to my SAR submitted to DCBL
In the SAR I specifically asked how they got my current address as I had moved since PCN was issued and DVLA had already confirmed no further request for info was made. The initial Notice of Debt recovery was sent to two different addresses 3 days apart.
DCBL stated that my previous address was provided by “data controller Auto Sec” and that my current address was supplied by “address located following a trace via a third-party tracing company”
I have replied asking for the name of the third party tracing company - have I the right to this info
I have also asked why they thought it was necessary to use a third party tracing company if auto sec had supplied my address
The only other info they have supplied is copies of the 4 letters they have previously sent me.
Within the SAR they have put
“DCBL were previously instructed on the above matter by the client, Auto Security Ltd, in debt recovery action regarding an unpaid Parking Charge Notice (PCN). The case was closed in DCBL’s office on 13 th July 2021. DCBL are no longer instructed to collect the outstanding balance.”
Does this mean they are no longer chasing or has the case now been moved to DCB Legal ?
