Wouldn't the Santander all-in-one credit card be one of the best non-amex cash back cards because it gives 0.5 percent cash back with no cap on how much cash back you can get, also paid monthly, has a 0% interest rate for the first 20 months, and doesn't charge for non-Sterling transactions?jbrassy said:FYI - the card charges 2.95% on non-sterling transactions, therefore it's not suitable for using abroad. Barclaycard Rewards still leads on that aspect. Nevertheless, this new Lloyds card is probably the best non-Amex cashback card now available on the market.
It would be one of the good ones though you would have to factor in the £3 monthly fee, where Barclaycard and the Lloyds don't charge a fee at all.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:1 -

You would need to spend £7200 just to cover the £3 monthly fee with cashback. There are no circumstances where the Santander offer beats Lloyds - the Lloyds card is definitively the best deal unless you use your card overseas.0 -

I have a really old Halifax cashback card (like 22 years open sort of old) but as I spend over £4000 over the course of a year this would be quite nice to have instead, I asked the AI bot thing in the Halifax app but it didn't understand my question...I asked Lloyds if I could do it with an old halifax credit card and was told they don't do this as they are two separate brands even though they are owned by Lloyds Banking group. I was told I would have to apply separately for the rewards credit card which I have done. They are two separate banks not just 'brands'.For clarity, Lloyds Banking Group is not a bank, it is a company that own's banks.0

Your just splitting hairs I just repeated what the customer service rep said. I know they are separate banks Halifax and Bank of Scotland are HBOS and have there own banking license and Lloyds Bank also has its own banking license.Deleted User said:dr_adidas01 said:Deleted_User said:Has anyone managed to change from a Halifax card to a Lloyds one? It's an important distinction though, isn't it? They can't move you to other products across the group in part because of that regulatory divide.dr_adidas01 said:

It is important and yet there are examples on the forum of people with different cards under a parent brand that do allow you to combine e.g. this one where a Think Money (backed by Capital One) and an actual Capital One issued card were combined or this where a user had 4 cards all ultimately controlled by MNBA which were combined into 1 limit so it was worth an ask. As they won't do it, that's fine, I just hold 2 cards from the parent group under 2 separate brands. Perhaps if / when Lloyds offer a limit increase Halifax will lower the limit if I am not using it much any more, who knows?

Im the same, mines was approved on the eligibility check tonight with a £700 credit limit, and then it said we are processing it. Hopefully it will get final acceptance.Deleted_User said:
Thanks, I will apply separately then, might finally be time to retire the old Halifax one except for the couple of CPAs I have on it for subscriptions to keep it active.dr_adidas01 said:Deleted_User said:Has anyone managed to change from a Halifax card to a Lloyds one? Edit, applications initially approved, £4k limit, if it gets final approval, will start the fun task of changing all my saved cards0 -
If it helps, I was given an account, activation letter send for online banking and card is on there so probably should be good to goDeleted_User said:

Was on the phone with them tonight the lady said it had to be passed on to a higher lending department for further checks, apprently those have all passed and the credit card application is now "awaiting fulfillment" so im guessing that means it's just waiting for a card number to be allocated, which presumably will be done when the systems refresh overnight.Deleted_User said:

Is it worth me switching my Lloyds Bank Platinum MasterCard to this?I seem to have a standard "Lloyds Bank Platinum MasterCard", not one of the specialist ones. In my statement it says:Your standard interest rates are:
19.30% p.a. (variable) for Cash Transactions
19.30% p.a. (variable) for Purchases
19.30% p.a. (variable) for Balance Transfer and Money Transfers
17.77800% p.a. (variable) for Default chargesIs there anything else I can check to compare? I always pay on time in full so the APR is not relevant to me and I never use the card abroad.I have a large credit limit of 12k. Any chance swapping to this would cause it to reduce?0
