I contacted Lloyds again and they have now said that a swap from Platinum to Cashback is not possible and therefore the only way is to apply for a second card. I've done that today and been accepted.ccdorset said:
I tried to apply to swap my card again today, but still no luck.deinoflex said:
I tried the same thing last week, failed with can't be done online, tried again following day, didn't get the 'application in progress' but got the same online failure, rang them up, got the 'wait till next week for it to be sorted' response. I gave up and applied for the cashback card as an extra card. Once it's up and running I'll close the platinum one.ccdorset said:I have an existing Lloyds Platinum Credit Card and tried to swap it to the Cashback card online, however I couldn't get past the eligibility checker, it just said there was a problem and to try again later.
However, when I try again it now says I have an application in the system so cannot apply again as it may be approved.
I phoned Lloyds today and they said that apparently they have not been able to swap any existing cardholders to the cashback card, due to a technical problem which the IT team are trying to fix. They advised me to try again at the end of the week or early next week. :-(
Thinking I may need to do the same as you, I was just a bit reluctant as I applied for a second AMEX recently.
They said to contact them once I receive the card and they can move 90% of my Platinum limit over and then close that card down.
At least this way I can get the £20 cashback bonus I guess.1 -
Well, that is a bit slow. Been waiting patiently for my card to arrive and have just received a text to say it is on its way.

I received the PIN letter in the post yesterday, but later the same day received a text message suggesting they've only just posted the card.molerat said:Well, that is a bit slow. Been waiting patiently for my card to arrive and have just received a text to say it is on its way.

Hello.
Does anyone know if the 'revolut trick' works with this?
My old nationwide card would not charge a cash advance for topping up revolut. Hence the cashback circle of fun.
If Lloyds charge a cash advance though, absolutely no joy in doing that.
Disclaimer for anyone who gets too excited by this method.
Whilst not illegal it's Taboo and banks can 'change' if they see your transaction as a cash advance or not.
Revolut also don't like it. If you do it, you have to be doing it in a proper sensible manner. I for example would draw money from my card to the revolut. Then spend on my revolut for a few days, before eventually paying back the card.0 -

Was the same with me, took a week or so between application and delivery. You can get the PIN from the app if you don't get the letter (mine turned up 2-3 days after the card). You have 3 months to get the £20 bonus so it's not the end of the world

Finally received my card today, a week plus one working day after application. Already had the PIN letter last week, strangely.Deleted_User said:molerat said:Well, that is a bit slow. Been waiting patiently for my card to arrive and have just received a text to say it is on its way.

Also I just checked all three CRAs, and I see no searches (hard or soft) on any of them.0 -
Card arrived this morning. Activated on the app, linked to GPay, PIN changed in cashpoint. £101 spent, £899 to go !

If you are checking the free ones, that is not surprising, they don't update in real time unlike your full report. I got one of those delightful emails from Clear Score telling me something had changed on my report about 2 weeks afterFingerbobs said:

Yes it was the same for me I got exactly the same email telling me something had changed on my report, also got on telling me that a new credit account will be added to my report too, which I'm guessing is the Lloyds Cashback credit card.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0
