What and when was your last reading before the switch? Because a slip/typo at the switch and the reading actually having been 43XXX would make your last couple of month's use consistent with the last 8 days use.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Just had another mail with the latest charge for 8 days0

Blimey Reed -Richards that’s my make of meter isn’t it 🙈0

So that last bill shows 43kwh over about 8 days so what would that be over 2months say roughly 60 days ? Maths is not my strong point is it about 750kwh?? That last bill was 1233kwh and nothing was different0

43kWh over 8 days equals 5.375kWh/day. 60 days X 5.375kWh/day = 322.5kWh.0

@Tracytrace I would help us if you could back back over your last bills please - 12 months and let us know the readings (and A,C or E)
This is looking like the earlier reading in May was wrong but we can make a more informed comment when we see the earlier readings.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Yes; it's also the same make that I have! But it looks as if only certain production models had the faulty component and it also looks as if faulty meters misread for a while then fail completely.Tracytrace said:Blimey Reed -Richards that’s my make of meter isn’t it 🙈Reed0 -
Just an update turns out ofgem decided to change my meter reads I gave edf when I left and joined eon; eon are refunding the difference but how can they just not accept your meter read! Crazy1

I take it that your problem has been fixed? I don't think that OFGEM would have acted directly but they set the rules that your suppliers should follow. I'm afraid meter reads are not just accepted at the point of switching from one supplier to another. I think this is because the customer might benefit financially from lying about their reading or they might just make a mistake.Reed0
