I will get pre return PCR Covid Test done in Switzerland prior to departure for Manchester.
But need Day 2 PCR test, where is it best to get PCR test done?
Order it now ready to do at home when I return?
Or
Order one to be done at Manchester Airport, bearing in mind my disability & inability to stand too long in a queue?Has anyone already done this & what’s their best advice?
Also who have most people booked with for the kits of tests?
Who was most reliable, seems to be quite a big difference in costs?
I don't know about Switzerland but day 2 testing is done when you return to the UK. You order it before you go and give your return date. It will be at your house when you return.
There is no need to do a test at an airport.
p.s. for the test in switzerland 2 days before you return, check whether a lateral flow test is acceptable as it's much cheaper.1 -
Gosh booking the Randox home test was not an easy option after all, didn’t find out till after I’d bought & paid for one.The day 2 kits are £48, couriered they are £90+So I bought the cheaper one not reading small print, thinking I could just put it in the normal post special delivery. They have to be specially delivered by medical couriers or dropped off at various drop of boxes which are supposedly medically sealed, they look like elaborate post boxes. Biggest problem since buying test discovered the firm are inundated with boxes which don’t fit in the drop off boxes because they are too full, so people are leaving them precariously perched on top of the bins. So much for it being medically sealed! I have subsequently discovered that the boxes get emptied at 5.30 every day, if you don’t get it there in time it delays & degrades the test by 24 hours till the next pick up. The nearest drop off boxes to me are Bradford & in a hotel car park near Manchester Airport where there only 2 small boxes for the whole of Manchester Airport. The complaints have been massive! My only other option is to find a courier who can collect & deliver the test using medical type storage. I have yet to find one locally!1
