KxMx - I would imagine there are probably more where I live, or fairly close, it's just they don't seem to advertise it's a lot of word by mouth, I think. There's a need everywhere and it helps keep waste going to land fill.

My big news today is the November cost of living payment has appeared in my account, so I can now have my boiler serviced and mended, and any left over will go towards g&e. When I enquired the lady thought I would be entitled to the whole year but I think I missed out on the first one by a couple of weeks when I looked at the dates, but I'm so happy 😊 I have been retired for over 8 years and hadn't applied for pension credit until this year so please apply you never know, I THOUGHT I wouldnt be entitled to any but the little amount I receive means I qualified for this!! Shame I can't get help with council tax and dental care though, but you never know things may change😀. So I'm a very happy person today 🥳£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund6

Another day without any spends, dgs and I didn't go out at all, we played with trains, cars, the pup, colouring, stories and cuddle time when he had a nap! And his dad finished work a little early so I got away a little earlier as well😀 tea was leftovers from last night and there's still plenty of it to have tomorrow as well, it's a good job l like it😂
Tomorrow I have a couple of errands to do and then it'll be back home to start some cleaning and do some laundry if the weather isn't too bad.
Definitely having an early night tonight, I've already plugged my blanket in.

Well done on getting the payment and persevering. I’m sure others will have missed out and you may have just inspired someone to apply🙂. Don’t feel guilty about using the food initiatives every one of us needs some help at the moment and they also stop food being wasted and sent to landfill. Far better it gets eaten than wasted.2

Only just caught up & seen that you've received your COL payment. Well done! I'm very envious of your access to free/cheap food as there's nothing at all like that where I live in North Wales. However, there is a L!DL in my nearest town (10 miles away) & if I get there early enough, I can usually pick up a £1.50 fruit & veg box. It's not worth making a special journey in the car though, & although I could go by bus (using free bus pass), I have a long way to walk home with heavy shopping bags once I get off the bus.

cbsexec - i really hope anyone who reads this and is unsure about pension credit will apply. Just incase anyone is. - I applied on gov.org website and filled in my details it was quite straight forward and if I can manage it I reckon anyone can as I'm not very tech savvy.
