Really happy about the CoL payment news.
This Christmas just gone a long hot water bottle for my Mum was for me that one present you are always tempted to keep, so I ended up getting on for myself, it's amazing.2 -
So pleased to hear that you will be getting that COL payment. Just hope it doesn't take too long. It'll be a great help.

KxMx - my tea was lovely🙂 it was basically cooked rice, mixed into cooked onion, courgette, sundried Tom's, garlic, chilli and passata ( I used a tin of Tom's), topped with mozzarella and then baked to melt the cheese. I put mine in the halogen and it was so simple but tasty. I'll definitely be cooking that one again. Oh I did put some carrot shavings in with the rice to cook as you're supposed to use spinach and I hadn't any and I used my dehydrated Tom's that I put into oil to be keep instead of the sundried ones😀

kayannie - thank you for your help with the Tele number, I started off with that one but in the end it ended up being another one with lots of options and then more options. I have learnt not to select the option as you come to it and listen to them all first!!! When I finally got to the end of my options I was told I was in a long queue only to have someone answer straight away 😀
I'll let you know when/if I get anything. Thanks again.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0 -
Again it's been a few days since I posted.
I've had a problem with my internet, another company trying to set up a new account in my name at my house! So this is now sorted after many telephone calls, jumping though hoops at the phone shop and generally getting quite anxious about it all, but it doesn't give me much confidence in any digital systems that we may be railroaded into, they make the mistakes and it seems it's up to us to sort it all out and having to prove to all and sundry who you are!!! as you can tell I haven't been a happy bunny about it all 🤬
Everything else is fine though, the menu plan is going great and today I made a potato, onion and cheese pie, it was really tasty and there's enough for tomorrow for me and dgs who I'm looking after for a couple of hours.
I had a King Charles 50p in my change the other day and it's quite thin and feels 'delicate' not like the sturdy Queen ones at all, it's the only coin I've had so far.
Whilst I was up in the city yesterday I did a little shopping in Tesco's, is it just me or are prices still going up, I was chatting to a lady in there and she was saying the 'value' items seem to have disappeared from the shelves as well, and the prices of the fresh veggies was very high, I know it's a time since I did a shop in Tesco's (before Xmas I think) but even so ...... I did get some really cheap fuel from a small independent garage though, cheaper than the sm's.
That's it for today, I'll go and change my signature before I forget.

I agree prices do seem to be rising still. It’s like inflation has given companies a neat excuse to make more money!
The pie sounds delicious. Do you make your own pastry?
i haven’t paid with cash for such a long time, I am missing out on the Charles coins 😕Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
