KxMx - it looks like it'll be a waiting game but it would be nice if it all went up together.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0

Moneywhiz - i applied in September but it was backdated three months I think, I started to receive it in December I think, including all the back of payment, so I'll keep waiting 🤣 I think if I don't look forwards to getting it, then if it comes I'll be ecstatic 🤣🤣 if you know that I mean!!!

WinterWarrior - i find it hard to ignore him late at night but so far resisted (well except for a couple of nights😁)
I have cat nip cat treats at the moment and he loves them!!!! I used to grow cat nip when I had my own cats and they loved it - it was like they were on drugs, rolling all over it and then acting like drunks.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund2 -
Sun_Addict - his owners know he comes here and I look after him when they go away, he sleeps in then!
He wasn't feeling safe the other night. I had just sat down at the table with my dinner and a glass of g&t (leftovers from Xmas), the cat jumped up onto the table, slid across it (it's wood), hopped over my dinner and knocked my drink all over the floor, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, it happened so fast I don't know who was more surprised me or him and he doesn't normally jump up onto the table either and I don't think he will ever again 🤣£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund2 -
Nanny g, when we received our winter fuel payment on December 9th, it included an extra payment they said was for 'pensioner cost of living payment'.
Maybe you should contact them & ask if you should get it? Tel no is 0800 731 0160. You'll need your NI number.
Good luck!

kayannie - thank you for the telephone number, I've been looking for one but there seems to be so many for different depts. I will try later as I'm out at the moment.it would help to get the payment as I'm beginning to worry a bit what will happen when the 'help' ceases and trying to put some away whilst I can. I know they can't keep giving us all extra help but they don't seem to be solving any problems either. I can see this year being a bad one for many people and businesses and it's troubling that many countries are all in the same boat. It's a good job there's a place place like mse where help and advise can be asked/given. Thanks again.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1

The phone number was on the letter they sent when they told me how much we were getting. It was the number to ring if the money hadn't turned up by mid January.KA2

kayannie - I tried the number and it redirected for the col payment so I rang, selected the number for non payment and it instantly cut me off!!!!!!! I'm thinking there may be hundreds of us in the same boat and they can't cope, so I won't get my hopes up. But I will try again as it's a free number. Thanks again.
On a lighter note the weather at the moment is sunny and windy, ideal laundry day, shame I did it yesterday 🤣🤣£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1 -
Nanny, I've just been refreshing my memory as to how pension savings credit is calculated.
The 1st £10,000 of savings is ignored, but every £500 of savings over that counts as £1 of income per week. Therefore if we have £15,000 savings, after deducting £10,000, it is presumed that we get £1 interest a week on £5,000, ie £10 a week. This means an interest rate of 10.4 per cent. I wish someone would tell me where I can earn that amount of interest!!

kayannie - i wish I had that amount of savings!! I will have to see if I can find the paperwork I received with it. I have money in my sinking funds but again not anything like that amount!! I wish I did 🙂
I assumed it was something to do with serps that I contracted out of for about year in the 1980's , I do have the paperwork but I had a big tidy up in the room it was all kept in before Xmas so my dgs could sleep in there when they came for Xmas and I haven't gathered it all up again since, I'll have to have a look over the weekend as I'm busy with dgds tomorrow🙂
I tried phoning again later this afternoon and followed the system through to the right dept to just hear about the new col for 2023, even though it was for unpaid col from Nov 2022!!!! I'll keep trying as it's a free number, I think one of the options on one branch of it was to speak to someone, so I might try finding that option again next time.
Thanks for putting me in the right direction and explanation of savings pension credit.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1
