Pressed the wrong button again!!!
So I went to fat club and stayed the same weight, I'm finding it difficult to stay on track with having Dgd here, as I tend to buy food in for her and then I'll add a few chips to my plate and have a piece of cake etc. so I'm hoping to be healthier this week as I don't have any outside meals to go to.
I participated in the electric 'cut down' I mentioned, that was today, but in all honesty I was out of the house most of the time, I did leave the heating on by mistake (on low and gas) so I'm not sure how much difference that would make, but if I was in it would have still been on as it's been very cold here today, so it'll be interesting to see the result.
Right I'm off to bed after I've put the dog outside for a last wee!

We took part in the same session, first time, DH went for a run and I sat and read my book.

Apparently I missed the second session with the elec which was yesterday, I didn't go into my emails so didn't see it 🤣
I still have pup here🥳 but it's been snowing and DD lives 16 miles away and the roads have been treacherous so I have him for a couple of more days🙂 he's been bounding around the garden in the snow like mad one, really enjoying himself and a joy to behold - bless❄️
No money has been spent as I haven't been out so that's a bonus. I've been clearing the small bedroom to house the freezer and have another bag for the CS, which I'm hoping to add to. My freezer should be coming on Tuesday and I can't wait. The freezer in the kitchen is nearly empty now and after I have transferred what's left to the new one I'll fill it with empty milk bottles and boxes until I get the new fridge freezer. I can start making meals by batch cooking and a visit to a sm will be in order for some veggies etc 😀 It can't come soon enough!
My eldest has been overhauling her budgets, so I'll have to have another look at mine, I don't think I can alter anything else, but you never know and they may get redone in March after I have been following them a couple of months anyway.
I have been feeling very possessive about any money I may have, I don't want to spend any of it on bills!!!!! And I'm really trying hard at the moment to keep them as low as I can do, food is fine, petrol is fine Xmas is organised but it's the energy bill that's the biggest problem 😞 the amount of money I'm spending is just going up up and up, I do have the credit in the account for winter but if it carries on like it is then it will be be gone before the better weather comes.
On that note I will go and make a cup of cocoa

A big problem is the standing charge. That’s a lot every day before you start. ☹️. Don’t know what the solution is I feel your pain4

cbsexec - you are so right about the standing charges. I have to accept those are never going down but I've really cut down (probably too much) on g&e usage, it's been hard and cold so I've revised my use and have the heating on more now.

I’m glad. Being cold can lead to other problems health wise Difficult choices6

Another couple of days not spending anything - woohoo!! I'll have to go to the shops tomorrow though as I need milk, cheese and yogurt but I'll do a quick scan of the cupboards incase I need anything else as well, but no money will be spent on fripperies.
My freezer has been delivered and now in my box room. I'll switch it on this Friday and put some food in over the weekend and then next week I'll be ordering the fridge/freezer - again I'll be paying on my credit card and paying it off in full, so I can collect the points🤣after that I have a couple of small jobs to complete and then it's onto finishing the front room and bathroom off - thankfully I still have some money left in my canopy fund which I'm using for the carpet, blinds and flooring. I was able to save during lockdowns which helped me no end, I just have to get back into that mindset of not spending again!
Well that's it for tonight, oh I reduced my elec the other night by the % they asked for and earn't myself 39p 🤣🤣🤣 but it's better in my pocket than theirs and I wasn't in for some of the time, the next one I missed, but there was one tonight so I participated so hopefully I'll have another few pence of credit off them 🤣🤣

I am so pleased you will be able to complete your front room and bathroom upgrades. I know it is not easy but keep yourself warm!5
-
I agree @[Deleted User] that it's important to keep warm. We're just keeping warm and will sort out the gas/electric after the winter. We have managed to build up quite a bit over the summer but not sure it will last the whole winter but fingers crossed it will be enough!5

Baron_Dale - the heating gets a bit difficult sometimes, I realise I have to keep warm (and I do) but I like to know I have the money for it. The daytime's aren't too bad at all, it's just the night time as I don't go to bed until the early hours, but with the gvt winter payment I received today and the credit I'd accrued in the summer I should be fine, trouble is I can't stop be very frugal 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I think it's the thoughts of being in debt and that's somewhere I definitely don't want to go to again 🙁 but I'm fine really.
