Just a quick catch-up.I’ve ordered my small chest freezer and it’s coming next week - yay. I’ll get that set up and working and then I’ll go and order the fridge/freezer. Next on the list is a new curtain pole and carpet for the front room, the other stuff can wait a little while until I’ve got the bathroom finished off. I started sorting the front room and bathroom at the same time back in the summer but it all came to a stop whilst I having my eyes seen to, so now I’m eager to start again, and the weather is against me for the work I want done in the garden so bits and bobs in the house it is!
People have started to put their Xmas trees and lights up, in and out of their houses, I’m holding off for a couple of weeks although I have my star decoration ready to go up, Quite a few people seem to be going overboard with outside decorations and lights but they do make me feel happy😃
I'm off to the theatre tomorrow night with eldest dgd which I’m looking forwards to, it’s like the start of Xmas for me. I think I’ve said it before but I love the run up to the big day 🤣🤣
I'm rambling now so I will go, by the way I had a big failure at shopping this week ☹️ I can’t seem to get back in the zone and back to my frugal ways, I will have to try harder but I have a few bits to do and places to go before Xmas so I’m just going to do the best I can and then really knuckle down all refreshed in the new year. I need to get myself organised to continue the work I would like to do in the house and garden next year.

Hope you have a great time on your theatre trip this evening. It does sound a lovely way to start the run up to Christmas. I also love to see all the decorations going up and the lights going on in the dark afternoons. It’s free cheerfulness for us all to enjoy. I have been holding off making a list of everything that needs doing around here as there is so much. You manage your resources very well and achieve a lot on a restricted income but it’s hard when the seasonal goodies are all around us so don’t be too hard on yourself. Great news about the freezer! I hope it will prove it’s worth once you are filling it with produce from your allotment.4

hope the new freezer works out well. I keep thinking of getting another small freezer, but it would have to go in the dining room and the tumble dryer is in there as well, so its starting to look more like a utility room...lol. DH, isn't keen, even though I told him I could batch cook more and fill lit with bargains. Also he wonders if the cost of running it will off set the cost of any savings we makeMaking the debt go down and savings go up

We have a dedicated allotment freezer and it's come in really useful especially as prices keep rising. It's lovely to pull out summer goodness in winter, always cheers me up.
Love 🐞

Moorviews - eldest dgd and I really really enjoyed the theatre last night, it was a cross between play and 60's songs and the audience always have a dance and sing-a-long, it's an excellent start to the Xmas celebrations 🎄🎉 we try to go most years.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund4

Makingabobor2 - I was hoping to fit it in somewhere downstairs but my house is quite small, so thats why it's upstairs in my craft room (smallest bedroom). I hadn't thought of the cost of electricity but having veg and fruit that I know how it's grown and freshly frozen will be off set by any extra cost and I'm hoping to grow much more this year.

So after an excellent night at the theatre I was all hyped up and had a bad night's sleep, which wasn't helped by the pup going on the prowl - up and down stairs no end of times, in the end I got up and sat with him and he went straight to sleep - pity I couldn't do the same 🤣🤣 I think he might have missed me!!
Anyway he's going back home tomorrow, I'm taking him to dds and then I will cuddle baby Dgd for a bit whilst dd does some housework, we're picking up dgs up from nursery and then visiting a big garden centre to oggle at everything Xmas!! We're not buying anything, that's already been decided but may treat ourselves to a hot chocolate whilst there🤣🤣🤣 so tomorrow night is going to be very quiet here, no pup, no Dgd just an empty house 😞 ah well I suppose that means I can have a really good clean through and then put decorations up🤣🤣.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund4
