Both spellings are correct.  When I was in the Foreign Office we used the one with an "e"..
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Here is the response from Trace to my complaint. So much for their claim that they will provide a breakdown of their findings as claimed in their original response letter. Pathetic comes to mind.
They say I can write to them if I am dissatisfied with their findings and they will respond within 14 days

  • I just checked and it looks like I can add a couple of more breaches of CSA code of practice now.

This is section 4 dealing with complaints procedures

  • I've redrafted my response to include those points

    Dear Trace,

I write to you in response to your letter dated 17th November 2021 regarding my complaint. I disagree with your findings and request that you provide me with a full breakdown of your findings as promised in your initial response letter to my complaint. In this breakdown, I request that you demonstrate the reasons for rejecting each point of my complaint.

    I refer you to the CSA code of practice Section 4 Paragraphs;

    k. Provide a response detailing the members’ conclusion to the dispute, where relevant, depending on whether the member or their client carries out the investigation.

    l. Provide sufficient information to justify the stated conclusion.

I await your response to my request.

    Yours Sincerely

Rather than “Dear Trace” you should, perhaps, use “To whom it may concern” or Dear Trace Complaints Manager”.

Shows the cowardice and lack of confidence in their system if the “Complaints Manager” can’t be identified by name.

Better yet, when writing to someone you do not know, address it as Dear Sirs, or just Sirs, and end with Yours faithfully.

  • This is the latest email I received from Ipswich Borough Council's lawyer.

Thank you for your email of 4 January 2022 when you would have seen that I was on annual leave.

I confirm receipt of your letter dated 5 December 2021.  I will respond to you as soon as I can once I have looked a bit more into the procedure you suggested, which on first consideration does not seem to be a viable option for reasons I will explain in my response to your said letter.

    Regards

  • I noticed that Trace have dated the reply letter to my complaint 17th Nov which is before my complaint letter I sent them 19th Nov. So their reply is dated 2 days before I even sent the complaint in.

Its obviously a mistake on their part but do you think I should mention it in my complaint to the CSA to save any confusion when I send them a copy of the letters?

Yep, point it out to the ICO.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I wonder what other careless mistakes have been made.   ;)
